you ever done camgears squizz?

I just ordered my ex. camgear before from japan.. on its way.

Next dodgy mechanic day its camgear time! mj wants to do his too.

Yeah with a mate of mine, might get him to come and do it.

intercooler piping got.....cost a little more than expected, but isn't that always the way....

Now just need to pick up the cooler this arvo and stash it all away from the missus :Paranoid:

The boot is a marvellous place...

Why not do it when you do your 100K'K service?

true.. but i figured i want to check the timing belt while its off.. if the belt is ok.. screw the 100,000km service for a while. ITs probably been done in japan anyhow, i got a sticker on there. And i want to do the camgear myself and save my cash for a mega tune.. sometime, one day on another car i'll want to do it so would be nice to know how it is done.

The other items i WAS going to do the other weekend, but they can wait...they'll live.

As far as i can see, if the waterpump fails i'm gonna know about it pretty quick (thats what a temp guage is for)

warwick: LOL.. you're hiding performance parts from the mrs! classic!

Sad huh.....but it's prolly for the best

I have been thinking of coming "semi-clean" and telling her I have spent a certain amount of money, but not telling her the real cost, maybe tell her it cost half of what it did, then I could actually fit the stuff here rather than having to skulk off and do it at someone elses place

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
