hey all.

i need some help.

i got done for going around a corner and my back wheels made abit of noise.

it was not a drift it was not a burnout. and i did not mean to do it. and i was with about 6 other skylines and they let it go alot harder then i did. but i was the first car.now my problem is i am on my red p`s but i dont get them back till may for speeding. now if i just pay the $400 fine and take to points i will lose them again.

i got done for no p`s plates cos my dad was driving my car and i forgot to put em back so that was 2 points and a 15+ speeding fine made me lose my p`s for 6 months... oh well

so can anyone help me on what you think i should do.

any info or thorghts would be great

cheers

so you weren't licensed at the time? you'll probably also be picked up for driving while disqualified when it goes through.. If you take it to court in that situation you have absolutely no hope.

you're at least going to lose it for 12 months if you were already disqualified I'd say.. they'll throw the book at you because you're young so you're basically screwed.

no driving for you for a looong time.

no no no guys you got it all wrong. i got done for speeding.... but before i lost my p`s i got done with this burn out .

its the fact that the cop was harsh to me.

i know i have no chance but is there anything i can do??

i did not lose my p`s in the skyline i lost them in my dads supra. which i guess is worse... oh well.

any help guys??

cheers

We seem to be reading stories like this every other week and its always claimed that the police have got it all wrong. I have witnessed your car and driving before not to mention the group of cars you roll with and frankly im not surprised.

yeah i know but what i had a friend do was take the matter to court and then when the date rocked up he had his green p`s so he rocked up and payed the fine.

i am happy to pay the fine and everything as long as i do it after i get my green p`s as i get them on may 17th.

is there anyway to delay the charge date?? unless i take it to court??

so you told your friend to take the shit for u? and u paid the fine?

umm you do know that is a criminal offense that is punishable by imprisonment dont you?

That's perverting the course of justice which would fu*k u up even harder..

dats not a good thing to do..just cope the fine, cope the ban rather then coping a criminal record

any info or thorghts would be great

cheers

i need some help.

Help is close at hand.

;)

you can keep adjourning the case I think indefinitely.. turn up, say "I want to adjourn because xx" and it will be put a month or two in the future. This way you can delay the fine and/or puishment, and let the other ones go through first ;)

May help!

Yeah that's what you do. First time say you only just went to see a lawyer but that he couldn't be there at such short notice, second time say the lawyer is looking after your case and he told you to plead not guilty and get a date that suits him; have some dates handy a few months into the future, after that you'd better actually have a lawyer cos they wont be happy to adjourn again.

So let me get this straight, you were driving a red supra and your friend had green pee...your dad was driving your car and someone let go ...you won't be able to speed again until may unless you pay the fine now and then you won't be able to speed for another 6 months...you lost your p's somewhere too.

I know the answer, you didn't lose your p's they were on the car your dad wasn't driving the whole time. If you have to go to court get your friend to drive you as he knows the way already.

Dude ur dad has a supra and u've got a skyline? Cool Family! What does ur mom drive?

Well if u want to drag the case u can do what others have mentioned...given how slow the govenment works it should be too difficult to drag it till may.

Thats surprising though...i would imagine that even if the case is heard after may, they should consider the status of your licence at the time of offence, not at the time of the hearing.

Thanks Dino! ;) that's cleared it up...i didn't have a clue what was going on...

    • There's plenty of OEM steering arms that are bolted on. Not in the same fashion/orientation as that one, to be sure, but still. Examples of what I'm thinking of would use holes like the ones that have the downward facing studs on the GTR uprights (down the bottom end, under the driveshaft opening, near the lower balljoint) and bolt a steering arm on using only 2 bolts that would be somewhat similarly in shear as these you're complainig about. I reckon old Holdens did that, and I've never seen a broken one of those.
    • Let's be honest, most of the people designing parts like the above, aren't engineers. Sometimes they come from disciplines that gives them more qualitative feel for design than quantitive, however, plenty of them have just picked up a license to Fusion and started making things. And that's the honest part about the majority of these guys making parts like that, they don't have huge R&D teams and heaps of time or experience working out the numbers on it. Shit, most smaller teams that do have real engineers still roll with "yeah, it should be okay, and does the job, let's make them and just see"...   The smaller guys like KiwiCNC, aren't the likes of Bosch etc with proper engineering procedures, and oversights, and sign off. As such, it's why they can produce a product to market a lot quicker, but it always comes back to, question it all.   I'm still not a fan of that bolt on piece. Why not just machine it all in one go? With the right design it's possible. The only reason I can see is if they want different heights/length for the tie rod to bolt to. And if they have the cncs themselves, they can easily offer that exact feature, and just machine it all in one go.
    • The roof is wrapped
    • This is how I last did this when I had a master cylinder fail and introduce air. Bleed before first stage, go oh shit through first stage, bleed at end of first stage, go oh shit through second stage, bleed at end of second stage, go oh shit through third stage, bleed at end of third stage, go oh shit through fourth stage, bleed at lunch, go oh shit through fifth stage, bleed at end of fifth stage, go oh shit through sixth stage....you get the idea. It did come good in the end. My Topdon scan tool can bleed the HY51 and V37, but it doesn't have a consult connector and I don't have an R34 to check that on. I think finding a tool in an Australian workshop other than Nissan that can bleed an R34 will be like rocking horse poo. No way will a generic ODB tool do it.
    • Hmm. Perhaps not the same engineers. The OE Nissan engineers did not forsee a future with spacers pushing the tie rod force application further away from the steering arm and creating that torque. The failures are happening since the advent of those things, and some 30 years after they designed the uprights. So latent casting deficiencies, 30+ yrs of wear and tear, + unexpected usage could quite easily = unforeseen failure. Meanwhile, the engineers who are designing the billet CNC or fabricated uprights are also designing, for the same parts makers, the correction tie rod ends. And they are designing and building these with motorsport (or, at the very least, the meth addled antics of drifters) in mind. So I would hope (in fact, I would expect) that their design work included the offset of that steering force. Doesn't mean that it is not totally valid to ask the question of them, before committing $$.
