Recently bought a set of work xd9s in 18x10 with a +18 offset. They havent been fitted to the car yet as its still in peices and waiting for paint. What i need to know is do these go on with out any mods, and will i need to stretch tyres maybe?

33 and 34 should be ok

not sure about a 32, think your going to have a little bit of an issue

thats the same offset /size 18/10/18 as i had on my NTO3s on the 34

why dont you just test fit one?

i havent ordered any tyres for it yet, i test fitted them on with the car off the ground, sticks out the guards a little, but i spose the car was unladen. Ive seen a few r32 gtrs with the same sized wheels, but unsure if any mods where done to get them on there

I had them on my 32 gtr with 235 tyres, only cuz that is what you could legally run on them in QLD and they stuck out 5-7 mm on standard suspension. So with some 265's and some lower suspension you should get away without flaring the guards, that if the guards havent been repaired for some reason in the past.

I'm in the same position at the moment with XD9's and looking at using a 265/35, would prefer not to roll the guards..

Here's a few from rimtuck.com without guard mods.

18x10+16 with a 275/35, -3 front camber and -1.5 rear camber and no guard mods.

18x10+20 with a 265/35, -1.5 and -2 camber and no guard mods.

When I first bought the car it had r34 gt-r rims with a 275/35, was going to add a 10mm spacer all round and it would of just cleared the guards. I checked the XD9's with a 265/35 against the old rims on a fitment calculator and it said the only difference is that the XD9's will stick out 7mm more.. I'm going to trial fit a tyre just to be safe before I buy a set anyway.

Here's the calculator

I run 263/35/18s on my XD9s the same size. You will need to get your guards rolled. I had them without the guards rolled and standard suspension and they used to scrub in the rears. Rolled guards and stiffer suspension has sorted out all my scrubbing issues.

im runing same wheel with 245/35/18 my gaurds are rolled, no clearance issues at all, goin to go 255 or 265 for my next set.

Is that both front and rear guards rolled? or did you get away with just rolling the rears?

i got 18*9 + 15's on my r32 gtr and i needed to trip the inner guard liners on the front and i need to roll the guards on the rear and i am running 245 wide tyres with a 35 profile

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
