luv psi the controller should be fine i think its more of a gate issue. i think it made my turbo laggy because i only had the 7 pound spring so the controller was holding back 11 psi its to much. try and get your gate as close as possible to boost pressure then use the controller to fine tune. how did you go with the manifold

Thanks BSA I just rather not fork out for a ebc I have not got the manifold done yet as still getting car rego with rb25 first. What's your thoughts on getting the manifold ceramic coated

So your mates GTR ran a single TD06-20G turbo? So many people confuse the TD06-25G with the TD06-20G. The TD06-25G is bigger then the T67-25G

sorry, thought you were talking about in general silly me as this was all td06 talk lol

Trent posted a SR dyno that ran this on 98, 300.2rwkw

where on central coast are you located BSA?

also the one with the ext gate mod already, how much you want for that and will it suit 40-44mm v band wastegate?

+1 HPC is a waste of money for a street car. use heatshieldig or heat wrap.

luvpsi, either way works fine, but welding onto ex housing is an easier job.

Was talking about turbo upgrade and not the other stuff. Hypergear turbo's can get 300kw for $1550 but that's internal gate on standard manifold and you still need to make a intake. GT3076 again is either internal and might not make the power for more money.

i know of at least one guy making 350kw+ with IG HG on stock manifold

LOL I think there are heaps of cars out with over 300kw on 98, Trent has even posted to expect 330-340 from a T67 on 98.

Certainly not the limit.

Sorry, reading back over my post. I was referring to all the people saying you "should" be able to get 300rwkws out of a 20G...Imy point was irrespective of motor, I am yet to see a credible/genuine dyno sheet of a 20G making 300rwks on PULP98. So if this thng gets up there then its a great result for the lil Kando, as the Trust and other knock off units traditionally have not been able to bag 300kws at the wheels. Be it because they are soft or just not enough people with the right setups using them??

People said that but the dyno sheet posted said 305hp on the axis. You might be right. It could have been 305rwkws with the wrong axis being shown. But seems high since most TD06 setups I have seen out of Dr Dift have been 250-265rwkws. Have you got the graph that you are referring to?

It was his personal 4 door 32 he had, he got a copy td06-20g (this was about 1.5-2 years ago) to 260rwkw on it and then added a front facing plenum and showed me the dyno sheet of it making 300rwkw, I went in the car when it was at 260 and it felt bloody quick because of the light switch on/off feel.

I was nearly going to get one of those turbos off him back in the day.

trent already confirmed numerous SR & RBs that made 300 on pump fuel, Roy.

I have seen similar posts and people reference it. I have never seen a dyno sheet. I have seen some T67 sheets. Not 20G = 300rwkws posts. I want it to be right, just want to be sure its right

Just not sure if its reliable info. Dont get me wrong, I want it to be. If there is another 30rwks in my setup I would like to know

These are the two dyno sheets I know of...

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=187000

And

http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=184121

It says 305hp on the axis. If 305rwkws why does the axis say hp, surely it would read hp...but i dont know how the dynos work. If it is 305rwkws seems odd he is making 50rwkws more with 2psi boost. (18psi vs 16psi in the top end) Was also on the std RB25 injectors with increase rail pressure so ?!?!?! I am no expert but is it really reliable evidence? 124mph is impressive though I dont know the state of the tune at that stage?! What hp does that mph suggest?

ok Roy, im bored so i have collected some of the 300rwkw on 98 sheets just to satisfy you and shut you up.

a 10cm should get you there, with the right choice in cooler and hi flow cat and exhausts, there will be no restrictions provided the tune is spot on.

this was confirmed by Yavuz @ unigroup engineering who is highly regarded on this forum by sau:nsw members, he tuned many gtsts that made anywhere from 250-310rwkw, deciding factors were listed above.

1)

R33 GTS-T

TD06-20G turbo on high mount manifold

Tomei cams and cam gears

Forged pistons

650cc Injectors

Blitz external wastegate and screamer pipe

Thanks Dori...lol I am going to back off because you seem to be cracking the sads with me wanting to be sure wires are not being crossed :)

My last post on it...I have seen that first curve before and I thought it ws a TD06-25G?!?! I suspect its a 25G just looking at it. It is making less power at 4,500rpm then my RB20 with a 20G

The second graph says GT-RS so ?!?!? Sure you are right but its hard for me to spot if I dont know the cars or the whole threads re the setup

There is also another graph floating around on an RB25 from a few years ago showing different levels of boost and that was a TD06 with Garret wheels so ? It made 330+ but it had 3037/3040/God knows Garret wheels.. Anyway. Carry on.

And Yavuz/Unigroup...I went to Uni with him...no doubt he knows way more then me and I trust him. I will be seeing him in the next few weeks so will raid his files and bust his balls for graphs before i change anything on my setup

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
