I am starting this!

There is too many punch on's with people throwing letters at eachother, with the dream boats and the f**ks and all this other crap being thrown around.

Yes - I do ignite alot of these fights, but if you can't take a joke, dont respond. ignoring someone is the bigger key to pissing someone off.

Is it gonna stop? or is SAU gonna become another "Performance Forum" (the famous Power Chip story)

your thoughts? and no slanging and cussing. who needs it

SAU is fine, it's just this section of the forums. Once upon a time, it was a nice friendly place but now it's frequented by knowitalls who bag anyone and everything they don't understand or don't like.

I think thats true, although was never on it before.. but maybe thats just todays age developing to a more political state. perhaps if someone has an opinion, and someone else doesnt like it? It shouldnt be responded to

Aaron that's the problem with opinions, they're like assholes.. everyone has one and most of them stink.

And Iain, that may be the case but in turn, some people should just keep their mouths shut.

dude dont start another one here(may not be you intention)

but its an opinion about a car dude, if someone else's opinion doesnt agree with yours it doesnt need to be turned into a personal "threat" or "slanging" match

Definitely wasn't my intention, and I completely agree with you. I was just trying to point out that everyone has a different opinion and usually if your opinion is different to someone elses', then their opinion sucks.. that's the way of the world.

But at the end of the day, if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all!

Fair dinkum, if I wanted to hear this sort of stuff, I'd buy a ford/holden...

This was one of the best forums because there was next to no slanging, and what there was , was good natured. I always saw it as what sets us apart from the sedans & coupes was our common ground?

There seems to be an old guard that don't take kindly to other ppl piping up in what the feel is "their" forum. And a few young bucks not showing enough "respect"

Just cos you have a lot of runs on the board, doesn't make you an infallible oracle, but by the same token, newer members have plenty to add (scotty springs to mind)

Just because you weren't on the forum doesn't mean you didn't have a life before it.

The nature of the net is people can be overly familiar, and I think that's becoming a problem here.

A fair bit of what gets said here probably wouldn't get said face to face, and if it did, most of it wouldn't end in the kind of violence ppl are threatening.

*awaits negative reputation attack*

For me (and this is probably different for everyone) this whole forum, SAU, is about the sharing of information and ideas to help fellow enthusiasts in their quest for modifying goodness.

I've seen it in the major mods sub-forums where if you have a stupid idea or ask a stupid question things can degenerate rather quickly but it still doesn't get as low as some of the bullshit I see in the Stagea area.

    • would a r34 gtr hood line up with gt/gtt stock fenders? after latch, front bumper and hinges are swapped for gtr ones? or would the fenders be too low or high in relation to the hood surface? ( I believe seeing somewhere that gtr front fenders use some type of riser for the sides, but do not know how that relates to stock gt/gtt fenders.)
    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
