Hi there, I have a question for those people using the emanage ultimate in there vehicles. What power are u making and what mods have u done to the car. I am curious because not many people seem to wanna tune them. I have got an atr43g3 turbo with 600 cc injectors and would like to see what maps and mods people have done to there cars etc. I would like to get a map off another car that is similar to mine if possible thank u all

They are good for what you're paying for but wouldn't you want the stability of a stand alone ecu if you're going to push the car above 250kw? And as you said it's not worth using one as you are limited with tuners.

Just a tip if you decide to keep it, don't bother with a map sensor. Keep using an AFM as the map sensor tables (to eliminate the AFM) are a bitch to get right.

Im hopefully going to get about 280 thats my plan I already have the unit and in the car. I have asked around a few tuners and 2 said they are a piece of shit but didnt know anything about them. One of them didnt even know that u DONT use a hand controller on them as they use a computer based software after that he said he would give it a go. The other 2 i contacted said they are a great piece of gear..........All i can gather is people just dont know how to use them Im really hoping that some one has my type of mods and i can get a rough map off them as its a bit of a pig to drive ( it currently has a remapped ecu for stock turbo fmic fp f/f exhaust ) so turbo very very laggy due to timing being retarded before boost comes on

I have one, only because there are no other ecu options like nistune. A good tuner can extract big power but it can drift a bit due to the stock ecu's mapping which is not a good idea at that level, and is one of the reasons I went e85 for safety. I have managed 300awkw so far.

Shame you aren't down in Melbourne, there are two tuners within a few k's of me willing to set them up, Trent (Status) and Cihan (Etuner), both very competent.

HI there I am aware of Trent as i have read his thread from what i can see he does a very good job I installed the emu and have figured how to change the afm and injector sizes and increase the lag time so it idles good. Its a bit hard up brissie way where some tuners will give it a go but not actually know how they work ( Oh please oh please does someone have the same mods as me lol )

I am forced (unhappily, but noone in the country can find an alternative..) to use one.. and my car setup will/is _SIMILAR_ to yours, but my car runs so poorly you surely don't want a map of this.

I was wondering if the piggyback is the reason it (mine) is so laggy, that or a really half-assed tune. :P

Must be the tune, the Ultimate is very capable in the right hands. Perhaps tuning the low end yourself is an option?

get a wideband, connect it. learn to use auto tune.

if you get familiar with the data logger you can get on the PPo2 website (http://ppo2performance.com/docs/?cat=4) and get the baseline software which takes your data logs and helps you fine tune your fuel map. its a very smart piece of kit for the emanage. i was one of the testers in its early stages and this guy has spent a LOAD of time and effort getting it right. keep in mind its still in its beta stage.

What do you mean 'drift'? Is this because it only adjusts the stocks ECU's fueling and timing rather than having 'fixed' maps? The stock ECU is still free to do what it wants?!mellow.gif

It will be better than stock, but it won't be good enough. Save the money on buying it and get a nistune and get that installed and tuned. The different will be quite large, it will also be far easier to tune and you will have a larger base of tuners to choose from.

Yeah but the stock ecu doesn't use many correction maps or on the fly tune adjustments so you can get away with piggy backs most of the time, still better to go full aftermarket/nistune though.

I had one on my r33 gtst and it was great. For the price at that point in time I couldnt argue and the results were definately worth it. Now with the GTR I will either go NISTUNE or PFC.

Nistune is just 16x16 maps and no provision for individual cylinder trims though? Slow as well only 8 bits.

    • I was getting anxious with the DVLA not knowing if the paperwork is fine or not, so I rang them. No update had been given, but I  was reassured that providing the box was ticked on the V750 then the application will go through fine. I've been checking the DVLA website pretty much every day, in the hope that it would have been done. Fast forward to Monday 29th  and I was greeted with a new screen on the check, and it finally showed as Taxed and MOT'd, woohoo! The car was in desperate need of a clean, not knowing when this day was coming it was put off. As far as I was concerned I had another 3 weeks  I'm not normally one for using snow foam, but I wanted to give it another try It hasn't cleaned up too bad considering it's 21 years old and lived on a boat for a number of weeks. The personalised number plate is J2 XBK, an illegally spaced number plate would have it read J2X BK. BK could either represent  the colour black or Baker, which is my surname. I filmed the first drive, the Youtube link will be at the end. I used the same driving route I did with the 323F V6 when I had a new exhaust installed, heres a couple of photos A few more since then Youtube video can be viewed here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjkFHPzjGDw
    • Thank you, 100% the intent. New coils were due and the 17" sixers look/feel loads better than the stock wheels. The aero options are so spot on.   Thanks for the warm welcome, all!
    • 98 r34 gtt Been rocking my latest setup and car running like never before. Have put a good 200 miles on it since all the latest changes and additions. everything is dialed in and have been driving it a bunch.   However, all a sudden last weekend as soon as I pushed throttle passed 4k and the engine stumbles, (slow or fast acceleration) hesitates and doesn’t go above 4100 or so, like a misfire. Everything else seems fine. I had a “good” set of coil packs that I removed from car when I first got it when I changed them over to new coils. I swapped out current ones for those, but no change. I also changed the plugs, no change. Seems to rev over 4 when out of gear with no load just fine no “misfire”, but as soon as its in gear with a load of any kind, it “misfires” as soon as rpm drop back below 4 k it runs perfectly, smooth, starts, restarts and drives fine as long as I keep it below 4 k while in gear. All readings look fine, no CEL   Any idea as to what could all a sudden cause an issue when pushing rpms passed 4 k?
