guess 60.77 is all i need to beat?

ha ha ha

LOL Ash...actually for a GTR you will have to beat 56.36 for the normal run and 63.64 for the Fig8 ;)

...and the gtr kept going after i turned...

John I thint that was me :blush: - not the first time there but a bit of a brain fade :)

I notice from the entry list that Danny T and gone back to a Rex....I know the Emo was giving him troubles but anyone know why?

From the paper today:

Last night authorities closed the Princes Freeway south of Morwell, about 150km east of Melbourne, after heavy rain sparked fears of a landslip close to the nearby Hazelwood coal mine.

I hope none of this rain has had an impact at HHills....will be interesting to hear about your experiences this weekend.

From vic roads: might be leaving a little early

Friday 11 February

12.00pm

Princes Freeway (Morwell Bypass), Morwell - Freeway closed in both directions at the Morwell exits due to the impact of recent rainfall and potential landslip.

Victoria Police and VicRoads have closed the Princes Freeway at Morwell in both directions.

East and westbound traffic is being diverted through the township of Morwell, via Princes Drive (Old Princes Highway). Most heavy vehicles (excluding Over Dimensional Vehicles) can use this diversion route.

View map of the diversion route

Motorists wishing to travel towards Melbourne from Morwell cannot access the Freeway from the following entry ramps:

* Tramway Road

* Monash Way

* Miners Way

The Strzelecki Highway entry ramp is also closed.

VicRoads advises drivers to expect delays and allow extra time to complete their journey.

Call the VicRoads Traffic Management Centre on 13 11 70 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) if you require further assistance.

The morwell bypass is basically built on the open cut mine, so that doesn't surprise me.

Shouldn't impact us, unless as Ant says, there is no HH anymore and its all slid away as well.

Yeah first year I did the turn off early as following another car.

Last year I took HH rd and much easier.

Weather looking better by the day, should be a great day.

M

hey martin, did you want to meet at westgate kfc about 6-6.30?

il be driving that way :)

john.

Even if I was unhappy with my times I was happy with the day.

For those of you who were there today and Paid members can you let me knwo what class you are in for the championship to save me chasing you up.

Usual Motosport day really

Froze in the more and I'm now burnt, oh well.

and the 8 car convoy home was kinda fun.

Sorting pics now!

Top day.

from 69.7 or so down to 64.8 i think...

Not super fast, but after a big off on my 2nd run, was a bit cautious.

driving a GTR is very different to my 31, good day, and much needed seat time.

Thanks to Dave in the rx7 for the loan of the pump, let a bit too much air out and hence big brown undiesoff :D

had a great time, thanks to all who organised this. ended up with a 64.60 which is 4 or 5 secs better than i did last year and the car is the same so was pretty happy with that. still alot more to learn about that track, i kept trying new things every run and still not sure where i should be on the track in some places. getting Mark in the 944 to be a passenger was very helpful, took about 1 sec off my time straight after that.

martin, i am in standard rwd but i think there should be an NA class ;)

    • The alloy coolant reservoir has a sight glass, so as long as I can see coolant in the sight glass it's GTG, as for PS, it isn't anything catastrophic if it gets low, and as it hasn't lost a drop since I have owned the car I cannot see it being an issue, even after putting the "big block" 2.5 in....LOL The only time it gets slightly messy is at oil changes, as the oil filter sits above the frame, and I need to use a plastic bottle with its bottom cut off to catch the flow when loosening the filter
    • Good on you for taking on the job, but it is a big one. Even if you have bolt on manifold and turbo, you will need: Post throttle pressure source to boost controller to wastegate (and FPR, and ECU/MAP sensor) Pre throttle pressure source to top of BOV(s) Oil feed - you can take that from the standard port in the middle of the block Oil return to block under the turbo - this is much trickier than it seems to route a decent/wide pipe past the manifold. You really can't use rubber hose because it is way too hot there, and also the oil out of the turbo core is a bit frothy so it needs to have a decent diameter Water feed - you can take that from the standard port in the rear of the block. Water return - mine runs to a T into the heater box return, just make sure you don't create a high point making bleeding hard. All of those lines should use 200 series style teflon braided hose with heat shielding because everything needs to be routed past the manifold. Also a turbo beanie is a really good idea to minimise the chance of the car catching fire (under bonnet lining in particular) You also need to decide a cam cover breathing solution as well, will you vent externally via a catch can (probably illegal) or return to the intake (plumbing required and can oil up everything over time) Keep in mind the intake and exhaust piping in the engine bay will be custom so you either need to be able to fab ally and steel or have someone you can get a car that isn't running to. Get the wideband fitting welded into the dump pipe at the same time. Also, just my opinion, a screamer pipe attracts attention and doesn't add power, I'd plumb it back if you want to be allowed to keep the car on the road. BTW do you know anything about how healthy the motor is, and what power you are targeting? Doubling or tripling the factory power on an unknown motor is a little risky. Also fuel system will need some attention (pumps, high current hanger, direct power and earth feed, injectors etc)
    • Wrinkle black will be a thing for both
    • As I wait for parts to be delivered, I have managed to procure via a contact a R32 Nistune ECU......for now I just want to monitor what the car is doing but eventually.......who knows where we go 😂
    • To back this up, I'm always looking on the outside, seeing the level, and then opening it up anyway, as I'm worried the level I've looked at, is more so a scunge line. Then you end up dipping your damn finger in it too depending on the type of tank you're looking at just to make sure I'm not going insane.   PS, Mark, polish up the none moroso one a bit and then give it a clear coat. The Moroso one looks to be way shiner (not mirror polished, just shinier) and it'll still look weird with the two different alloys beside each other. Either that, or Id probably paint them a flat black...
