hi guys im just seeing if any ne can help me. i have a 200sx with an rb26dett and it is currently running an ems stinger which is designed for a four cylinder not a six. so ive bought an rb26dett standard computer, afms and a engine harness. im a little lost on how i power up the computer as the ems was powered by a relay. im guessing at the end of the standard harness there are 6 plugs do i have to power these wires up to make this car run????

ive also got an engine harness diagram and an ecu pin out diagram, it states that pin58 is battery power (unswitched) is this just battery positive??? and pin 59 is power supply via eccs relay, dose this mean i need to fit a realy and run it off ign on???

so basically i need to know how to power up the standard ecu and earth it out.

any help would be great thanks guys

done lots of RB26's into S series cars. Cause yours is a 200sx you are best of using a r33 gtr loom. If you have an R32 one you will need to strip the power wires out of the std 200sx loom and wire them into the r32 one if you want it neat and plug and play.

I reckon if your not confident in auto electrics and circuits then maybe pay someone to do it, the std ecu remapped will be good for whatever upgrades you do in the future.

so i mounted the harness today plugged every thing in except the coil pack harness as i have to wire new plugs onto it, turned the key and i have reds but no fuel pump noise. done some searching and found the earth output of the fuel pump on the sr20det computer is black yellow trace so with a test light i earthed it out and the fuel pump came alive

i just want to know what wire i use off the standard rb26dett harness to wire this fuel pump wire too???

and then i need to work out how im going to power this standard rb26 computer to run the car ie what wires need power for it to light up.

STATUS i rang around were i live to get someone to wire it one guy wanted 1400 which i thought was a joke and two other places didnt want a bar of it. so im given it a go myself ill keep you all updated on how i go.

by the way to clarafy yes im running two computers the sr20 one runs the car ac lights ect and the rb26 one runs the engine only. i know this is stupid but this is how it was when i bought it but had the ems instead.

why the hell do you need 2x ECUs?

I wired up a RB20DET to a CA18DET harness, go look at my link. Also don't be stupid enough to earth your fuel pump, in the event of a crash and your motor stalls the fuel pump is going to be pumping continuously, very dangerous if a line is severed.

Do it properly, if you can't do it pay someone to do it.

    • This sounds like someone who would have owned an R33 in their past... It's okay, I'm 100% picking up what you're putting down Mark.
    • Just back on what was raised about jacking off the the tow/tie down point on the front of cars. I've used it plenty. I've also watched it on a car where you could see it move the front end of the car. It was like the front end/whole car being tweaked and twisted a bit. I will say, I struggle to find good jacking points on MOST cars. The ones that have good points, I then normally struggle to find a jack tall enough to make the car change height!   One of my go to points for either the jack, or the axel stands though, is either a suspension pickup point, OR a subframe to chassis major bolting point. I actually think its the subframe on my R33 that has a bit of a bend in it, from being jacked in the middle too. However, it could have been one of my many other cars I've had over the years! Or it could also be the from me jacking it up, and the fact the top of the front radiator support isn't there, so it can allow the front of the car to move and bend etc.
    • My apologies. I forgot we were talking about weird beard M series stuff. Had been talking elsewhere with someone about an R33 with similar subject and got confused.
    • Nope, I don't like the look of ND RF, or any ND really, I don't like their faces or arses, why, because of their "modern" lines, the NC, whilst "modernish" has a more rounded shape that I like Well, that's how my overly judgemental eyes see it anyway
    • Should be more than fine, especially the overall fuel pressure would never exceed 3.5bar (assuming that thing never gets more than 0.5bar of boost in stock form). According to the chart, it's 11amps.
