i presume your talking about the AAC valve?

if you are its located on the back of the plenum, there are two plugs going to it, i think 1 of them is purple.

have a go at cleaning it first, as they a prone to getting filthy. then see how your getting on.

heres a diy thread which helped me:

Diy AAC valve cleaning

Thats the Cold start valve, not the air regulator

The AAC valve is the air regulator, that item youve listed only effects how the car operates on cold start. And I think those hoses that are attatched are coolant lines.

But if your still looking for it, pretty sure its on the bottom of the stock manifold.

So long as your 25 isn't a Neo, it's buried under the plenum, about half way along.

You'll pick it by its alloy body on one end, black plastic material on the other.

Will have approx 16mm air hose in and out and a 12V power plug.

When faulty, your idle will be way too high, out of the range that the AAC can control.

it's an absolute bitch to remove! The only way I managed to take it off was to remove the entire intake manifold. I was removing the intake manifold to replace all the coolant hoses anyway, so i thought I'd check out the cold air regulator while I had access to it. By the looks of it there really isn't too much that can actually go wrong with it and the inside of it wasn't even dirty so maybe the previous owner cleaned it?? It has two hoses that come out of it; one goes back into the aac valve and the other goes into the bottom of the intake manifold so I'd be checking them for any air leaks.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
