Yeah was great to meet you fellas. My best was a 1:58.5. Happy that I broke 2 minutes for my first time out on the Creek. A lot to learn about that track.

The night raceing was kinda freaky. Everything comes up so fast.

I took some pics, think i missed saying hi to everyone as i wasn't around the garage much or you guys left early. Will post up tomorrow.

That sucks about the DC5, when did that happen e.g. what time!?

Yeah, was in the dark. Don't know too many details but Stevo was standing out the back of the garage and he heard it. They way he described it "I saw white headlight, white headlight - then red going just as fast or faster than the whites, then bang - hit the wall".

I drew it right down during the night racing. I was surprised how many guys were still pushing a bit harder at night.

Yeah great concept racing at night, just need lights showing all the corners-that's the first thing I'd change about those nights. There's more, but that's just vital.

Any pics of the stacked Honda?

someone showed me some pics on their iphone but nothing of my own as it was way out there in the dark and i had just come out of my last session, thank god i was in group A or would have followed it off.

The front end was simply...gone. New sleek design for the intergra begins at windscreen and ends at R quarter which was missing rear bar and spoiler. poor bugger.

nice to meet the guy behind the silky american accent on the radio, i am of course talking about you Pezhead. love your giant CANNON muffler and your 1.56 clearly shows its value. My best was 2mins and that was when it got dark.

whos coming to the cruise tomorrow?

night driving was freaky, you would find yourself hard on the brakes without been able to see the corner.

In the last session i was doing 240kmph as i went passed the 200m marker heading for turn one, went for the brakes and the pedal hit the floor and i had no idea when the corner was,wow what a rush

The dc5 went to hot into turn 9 overshot it got on the grass and couldn't stop, hit the wall straight on bring the front of the car level with the strut towers, hope the driver is ok

that sounds like at least twice that your brakes failed on you, bet your heart leapt a few feet the second time...

love night driving, scary shit but you certainly get a feel for the road as all your other senses are heightened, suddenly every bump and shimmy communicates so much more than ever before. Glad its not typical of track days though, dont think i could handle the stress..

bring on march 5!

Xklaba,

Did you bleed your brakes before the track day? Also your pads could have glazed causing infamous Brake fade. Lastly if it is neither of those, you might want to check your rotors for run-out/have them turned. On a long straight if the rotors push the pads back then when you go to stop the first "gulp" of fluid is just to get the pads back into location then second pump gives you brakes.

I glazed my pads on my first track day - same last session go for the brakes and they go just able to the floor and don't feel like they were ever going to stop. I fiddled with them for a while (EBC Reds) trying to get them back to normal but ended up chucking them in the end. Shame cause they still had 80% of the pad left.

Just about to post a video boys. coming soon....

One of the reasons pro circuit guys give a "faith test" to the brakes on the main straight of most circuits. Firstly, incase they need extra fluid up, secondly in case they have failed, they can get off the gas.

i bleed the brakes after the first session in the main shed (love knowing the guys at EC)and didn't help 5 laps and then nothing

i had my street pads in as work took longer than expected and i didn't get a chance to change them, a mistake i'm not going to make for wakefield, changing them this weekend with the project MUs and replacing fluid with the wilwood 570 stuff.

the discs are a bit choped up now so will need replacing soon, on with the 6 piston APs and 372mm discs

luckily i was braking early just incase which gave me a bit extra time and proble the only reason i made it through, more arse than class i'd say

Eric - Your video editing is definitely getting much much better! Really like the music and its a good compilation. Only thing i don't like is the zoom in and out real fast a few times but i know that wasn't you doing it haha.

Love it at like 1:15 the BYP evo is spraying flames everywhere from the cooler piping blowing off, looks awesome!

How come Dave's car smokes out of the exhaust everytime he gets off the throttle, turbo gasket?

The lowdown pics look great mate, keep up the good work, i always like reading your guys blog.

XKLABA - Is this your GTR below? If so.. pr0n.

Thanks Kory. I think that video is actually one of my best ones yet. I finally feel like I'm starting to get the effect and feel I'm going for. If you have any projects that need a music score like the one I used, I found a royalty free composer that shares his work. Google Kevin MacLeod & music.

When I saw the big flames spitting out of the evo, I got a big grin cause I knew the GoPro was on the front bar and should have captured the shot. You know that feeling you get when you know you got the shot before you even have to look at it.

Did you happen to get any shots of my car? I haven't see any on the JDM or circuit club blogs.

Also, here is an in-car video with GPS Telemetry Data overlaid (Expand to full screen to see the position on map better).

    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
