"Get a hiflow turbo, GCG or Hypergear etc. Not to mention these will just bolt straight back on plus the fact they have factory appearance and about half the price of a HKS kit. Just saying this has all been discussed over and over before. So much info on here. "

Hypergear Plain Bearing Hiflow ~$1000

Cheapish Injectors ~$400

Z32 AFM $350

Just Jap 3" Dump Pipe $200

Hi flow cat and Catback not sure say $600

Intake Pipe $150-300

Plus Install

Nistune install and tune $1000

I reckon you could get 250rwkw going for a bit over $4k ish if you were careful and did some things yourself. Although when does the auto need strengthening?

$6-7 would be more a garrett turbo installed which you could push more than 250rwkw if you wanted.

Thanks for the prices you listed above, even though they are only a guess or roughly.

All those above things would get me around 250kWs at the wheels or engine ? What do you mean when does the auto transmission need strengthening ?

How much power can a stock auto gearbox handle ? Do you know or does anyone know ?

Thanks !

Yes it will handle 250rwkw but it would benefit hugely from a basic shift kit (even just doing the welsh plugs). I got a guy down in Bibra Lake to do mine (Global Auto Trans or something like that), cheap as and made a HUGE difference.

For an auto 34GTT, NIStune is pretty much the only option. As the TCM is part of the ECU, you need to wire any standalone in as a piggyback (that's how my Haltech has been wired up) otherwise you'll be driving around in 3rd gear everywhere :)

what do they do or install exactly and how much does it cost ?

do you happen to live around Canning Vale ? Saw one Stagea exactly like yours, silver, wagon etc. License 1BWO or 1 BOW or something haha

If not then don't worry.

Yeah,I understand. What's a GTRS bolt on kit and where can I find more information about it ?

And is nitrous oxide even legal to use on a car ?

Maybe I should for the Nistune first then (to make around 200kWs) ?

have bought in afew GT-RS kits for fellow wa members, all of them seem to get around the 300-350rwhp mark.

Good turbo, comes in a BOLT-ON kit basically has everything you need to bolt it on.

It sits in the factory turbo position so when you open the bonnet it will just look like the std turbo does now.

i 100% recommend them however at the current exchange rate you will be looking between $3000-$4000 ship if i remember right.

If you need more info just ask, i also help installed the last one i got, very easy took half a day

Okay, cool. Are there any other cheaper options that I can look at then ?

I mean $7,000 just to get 250kWs isn't worth it.If it cost $7,000 just to make 250kWs,how much would it cost to make around 300-500kWs ?

Hahaha

horsepower cost money.

If you get the right supporting mods it is easy to upgrade your turbo to something bigger later on.

The main parts which you can't really cheap out on are

1. Fuel Pump

~Nismo or similar all make a bolt in fuel pump

$300-$400

2. Injectors

~Nismo or sard

$500-$1000

3. Afm

~Z32

$200-$400

4. Ecu

~Nistune

referring back to the original pot, You CAN use a Haltech with the stock ECU, you will need a Haltech Platinum Interceptor $799 retail, these only control apark and fuel basically, just a piggy back.

otherwise get a nistune

Cost me less than $200 and they basically removed the accumulator pistons on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts (there is a chamber with a sprung piston to dampen oil flow) and replaced with 50mm welsh plugs.. ergo no dampening!

And nope, not me :)

Fuel pump, I'm a fan of Bosch units. Mount an 044 intank FTW.

Injectors, stockers will see you to about 230rwkw. If you need bigger, look in the Group Buy area for the Siemens Deka injectors. Unfortunately with Neo engines, we are very limited with injector upgrades :(

Z32 AFM, needed as the stocker will max out pretty early.

ECU, NIStune should be able to get a board fitted and tuned for well under $800. Don't waste your time with anything else, simply not worth it.

Turbo, I'm running a massive highflow of unknown specs (came with the car), Hypergear do a bolt-on highflow good for ~260rwkw and only costs about $1000. Bolts up to EVERYTHING just like standard.

Just get a NIStune. My wagon is running a Haltech e11v2, wonderful ECU.. if the wagon was a race car.. terrible for an auto street car.

Yeah,I've looking at that. You're talking about the Hypergear High Flow Turbo right ?

Are you located here in Perth or another state ?

300-350HP ? What to do to get 350HP,I mean not between 300-350HP ?

Kaido was talking about a HKS kit.

350hp is 260kw. To get there you would need z32 afm, bigger injectors, fuel pump, turbo and NIStune. Oh and a full 3" exhaust.

You seem like a nice guy :) hehe.

So.....what's the first thing I should do to my car ?

I'm not sure, should I get the bolt-on turbo kit straight away or do the Nistune ECU,exhaust, headers, fuel pump etc. first ??

Edited by Jeremy1607

You need the nistune before you up grade the turbo, you need the nistune before you upgrade the injectors, you need the nistune before you upgrade the afm... Ect.

Okay, cool. Then I will get the Nistune fitted and tuned first then.

Thanks !

Just to clarify something, "headers" aren't really an upgrade for turbo cars as it's not as simple as bolting on a set of extractors and off you go.

The standard exhaust manifold is good for up around 300rwkw and generally an aftermarket exhaust manifold is used for a big turbo with an external wastegate.

Your first port of call should be a decent fuel pump and a full, turbo-back exhaust, boost tee (or electronic boost controller) then NIStune and a tune. That should net you close to 200rwkw and you can get used to driving it with some more power. By that stage you'll be needing to get the minor shift kit in to the auto and then you can look for a turbo upgrade.

I can take you for a ride in the wagon if you want, for all intents and purposes the engine is a 34GTT setup, it's just a bit heavier and is 4WD when I want it to be :)

best to do everything at once.

But ecu(nistune), aftermarket injectors, z32 then get a tune

Not necessarily, he won't max either the stock injectors or afm with the stock turbo so not much point splashing coin when it isn't needed.
