Not for ages i don't think. Hopefully end of the year. It's an on going project thats been 2yrs so far. Slowly buying engine parts and suspension goodies atm. Nissan Japan just finished remaking my door seals which took 3 months to get

Nice colour Corey!

Pulled the turbo off the wagon yesterday arvo.. looks like a pretty big highflow (it's unknown and came with the car), there's only a couple of mm of snout left.. keen to see how it goes on the 3L :D

the only thing i dont like about the 4 doors (this goes for 32/3/4) is the tail lights. If it was easy to put the coupe ones in i would go for it. I understand that Nissan wanted them to be different but they just look like @ss to me.

Got my clutch yesterday

Sent turbo off for inspection and possible rebuild (leaking a bit of oil), on the plus side I may have found who built this unknown highflow!

Handbrake shoes being collected today and hopefully injectors.

Went to wire in my resistor box and new injector +ve's and was left scratching my head over WHY the standard loom is laid out the way it is.. (injs 1,2,3 on main part of loom, injs 4,5,6 on sub loom that bends back on itself) seems rather pointless so I've traced back the injector earths and the common feed all the way back to near where the igniter plugs are. Not running the IACV so can actually piss off the whole front sub-harness.

Going to Jaycar today to grab some more wire and will run all the injectors earths through the new loom I've made and my mate is bringing round a nice sealed plug so that the whole injector loom will be removable.

I think it's purely for spatial reasons, it's pretty cluttered under the standard plenum what with TPS plugs and IACV plugs in the same area. The only thing that is subject to noise is the CAS but that runs in its' own heavily shielded cable.

My way will be a lot neater with the loom hidden under the plenum.

I'm already excited for it :)

Imports and bbq.

2 great things.

Going to ditch the cable ties this weekend hopefully and secure the front lip properly.

On another note. Welding internal gates (I think that's what it's called) is it a bad thing?

    • I thought Australia got rid of the "drag dodgy fuel up to 91 RON with ethanol", which is why all E10 advertise as "up to 94 RON" ? Anyway I put E10/91 in the missus' Mazda because she empties the tank weekly, when all my cars get 98RON. tl;dr - turbo - 98 RON, if you can't afford that, sell it and get a commuter car (or tune your car for 91, which no one does).
    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
