Thanks but I did the work already. $1,300 later (sensor $148 +gst)...I got my WoF. And it was 246,000 kms not 241. Here's hoping. BTW Nolethane bushes are now available for those control arms at about NZD 100 each.

Brake calipers were a pig to get off.

I know this to be true, I did mine DIY style a bit ago. I ended up lowering the car off the jack so that my breaker bar was on the ground to give me the leverage, there's a groove in the concrete floor of my garage now...........

I got this code a few weeks ago. Cleared it and it came back last week. Also had it stall and took a bit to get started again.

Do you know what the plain silver circle is for, I have that one not the one with writing

hi guys, so im digging up yet another old thread with hope ill eventually have a working M35.

i think my warm start issue is down to some faulty sensors, the cold start is perfect and fires up fine every time. but once ive driven the car and its built up a bit of heat under the bonnet the car struggles to start again. once its been sitting for awhile it'l fire again. A question i had with regards to the stickers under the bonnet was what do they mean? i have 1 sticker with the R168 on it. but no blank sticker?

Where are you? I have some spares to try if you are in Melbourne.

I have had the same issue come up "bank 1 camshaft sensor." Scott was as usual able to help out with both sensors I decided to replace both (aftermarket ) and they are fine after 2 weeks.I can,t speak highly enough how helpful Scott is and how reasonable his pricing is.

Thanks again Scott

i see this is an older topic - my car (m35 axis) threw a cam sensor error bank 1 position 1. I assumed they were the sensors on the front of the engine. But reading here doesn't seem to be the case. Does anyone know what the 2 blue sensors are that go into the heads?? and where the cam sensors are located, especially bank 1 pos. 1.

thanks

They are both located in the same respective place on the back of the heads of the engine.

Bank one is the drivers side. They have one 10mm bolt holding them in.

Send Scotty a PM

I believe he has some, or contacts to some cheap items. Defiantly don't buy from nissan. Importing from the US is the other option, they are cheap there.

    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
    • Fair enough, I am in no way a tire expert so I'm not familiar with all the terms and conditions. I'll definitely note down the AD09 to potentially try in the future. Rain is not too big of a concern for now as I will probably only drive in the rain when I have to. And considering I still lack experience driving the GTR I'd more than likely take it easy too. I have coilovers in the car but as I barely got to drive so far I never bothered to even check if they are adjustable haha. The suspension is almost entirely old and worn as well so I suppose when I eventually fix that in the future that would make a huge difference.
    • There's not a great deal to report here .... except ...... FOR .... LSD!!!  I bought a Quaife LSD from the UK and shipped it here .... Wish I'd just bought locally cause the shipping and duty was $700! But there were so many diffs used in the E90s I just wanted to be absolutely certain I was getting the right one so I spoke with a supplier in the UK who builds race cars and they have heaps of experience with the E90s.  I pulled the diff out which was seriously awesome - I've never done anything like that before, I must have watched 1000 videos on YT about it as well as consulting the Bentley manual. It was super easy in the end. The diff was delivered to the awesome folks at Hornsby Diffs and will be back in a few weeks. I also replaced the diff bushings with some Nolathane ones.  Really looking forward to getting it back and getting back to the track or even the skidpan.
    • yeah... the 13kg/mm springs weren't always in there, I had 10kg/mm but doing a few SMSP commanded heavier front springs. It's so good now going into T1 and T2, just need more seat time and real tyres.
