This is the only time exec material will be posted on the open forum. It is here to give you an idea of how we propose to move forward as a club. Read on.

OK peeps, We are not going to let grass grow under our feet so lets get crackin.

Most of the exec posotions are now set in stone with the exception of secretary and the good news on that front is several peeps put their hands up to share the load so we should be well served on that front.

I propose we divide the job in to clearly defined areas so there is no confusion as to who is responsible for what and when. e.g. Membership secretary, Events secretary, and general secretary.

As Toddls was formerly elected To the position He will have the casting vote on issues requiring a ballot.

To achieve our goals we need to stocktake our membership immediately. There is a certain amount of confusion as to who is/isnt a member atm so lets implement plans to clean this area up. Those in the secretary position need to get crackin on it so we know where we stand.

currently there are 3 events set in stone over the next couple of months. Our first club dinner for the year, Our next happy laps at lakeside, and the drag day in June. I propose an immediate as in asap club cruise with a 2 fold purpose. one is obviously cruising for cruising's sake, an enjoyable pastime. The other is a membership drive. I would like this cruise to head west through the flood zones of lockyer and toowoomba with a view to reaching out to the toowoomba skyline fraternity.

Chris Rogers has volunteered to take on the responsibility of Cruise director and will be in touch with Whatever toowoomba people we have on board. Ideally I would like to see that cruise take place in may prior to the lakeside happy laps.

We will begin the compilation of an events calender immediately, I would like members to finish one event and already be looking forward to the next. Get on a roll and keep it rolling. Business creates business and by creating momentum we will have a ton of fun and hopefully garner a lot more membership along the way. It is the responsibility of every member of the team to promote our activitys as much as possible. Outsiders will be welcome to most of our events but they will pay a tax for the privelage. Events that are limited to numbers will be subscribed by our own members first and if there is room we can draw outsiders.

I would like to promote change to the actual sau qld forum. Throw it wide open and promote the use of it beyond bloody whoretown. This section will remain the only closed section on the forum and will be accessible only to the executive, the events committee and the administrators.

Whoretown needs to shifted. The wasteland area has seen some great forum contributions buried almost immediately simply because we like to gossip and talk shit too much. (that wont change)

So lets get on it. Can our secretary/s please get the beginnings of an events calender up in the events section and post it on the mother site as well so we can get on with the serious business of having fun.

so your shutting the QLD section??

I hope not because I find it good having the local sections in here as I am only new and the best thing to do is meet local people rather than meet 100 people and not know anybody or where they are

Hell no. we have no say over this forum so its certainly not our place to shut it even if we wanted to which we dont.

too long, didn't read ;)

I did actually read it though... how large is the Toowoomba and surrounding contingency of members?

We dont really know how many lines are in Toowoomba but we would like to find out.

Same as sunny coast and the goldy.

We hope to reach a lot more of them in the near future.

Hey mate I am located in Toowoomba and am helping out with organizing the cruise to Toowoomba. Shoot me a pm as I am trying to track down all the Skyline owners I can.

Thanks

Chris

Noel,

I got onto a couple of guys up in the R35 section about getting involved with club stuff and one or two of them seem keen to organise some sort of cruise or meet on the Goldcoast.

We intend to do a major club cruise to the goldy in the near future Mitch. Plans are for 4 major cruises a year instead of one.

The first of these will happen next month heading west to toowoomba taking in the flood hit areas of the lockyer valley.

The 2nd cruise will be north toward the sunny coast with a hook up to the caboolture district skyliners

The 3rd will be to the goldy to meet up with like minded people there.

the 4th cruise will be our annual charity job.

These cruises are designed to give the club more exposure to those in the greater s.e. corner with a view to increasing our membership and events participation and generally just have fun doing what we do on a cruise.

looking forward to the charity cruise.

last year's was a blast and attendance was fantastic

keen on the toowoomba cruise as well, time permitting

it's a very nice drive out there. might have to bring the ipod along tho for some tunes, as no stereo might make the long drive dull

    • Yeah pretty impressive hey, good to see quality products not over-shooting their prices. That's what drew me to buy the hypergear turbo, just a shame I've never got the chance to see it in action
    • Thank you GTSBoy and MBS206 I have done the compression test with the motor out of the vehicle, reason for the test was to see if I needed to remove the head and do rings etc while its out. I'm in the process of respraying the vehicle and tidying up a few things. Story behind it all is I've just purchased the skyline and it was running when I got it, never drove it on the street though as I wanted to pull it down and do it all up again before registering it. the gentleman I purchased it from told me the motor has a forged bottom end and has a decent tune through it but I was going to pull the sump off anyway to see if it is a forged bottom end. that's why I thought id do a compression test beforehand.
    • Man, I'm kind of amazed that the price of the turbo has not changed in 7 years. Everything else is inflating beyond reason, but not this? Good on Tao / hypergear I guess? Anyways, good luck with the sale!
    • I'm selling my brand new, in the box, never used Hypergear ATR45 - and I had some additions I paid for a few yrs back when I purchased it. Never ended up having the rest of the money to add all the mods at once, so I just ended up slowly selling each part. I originally had it internally gated, with the dump pipe, however I found it was incompatible with what I was going to use it for, so I contacted (I think Ken) from Hypergear, and he and I messaged back and forth & he got me to ship the turbo back, where they modified it & made it externally gated, and gave me the 5 bolt dump pipe attachment for custom welding. (Photos below) This turbo like I said has never touched the inside of an engine bay, it's completely brand new, never used, been sitting in the same box it arrived in, covered in plastic & all. Below are the photos of it: And while the guys at Hypergear were making it in-shop, they sent me some photos of the process: I'm looking at selling this just because I'm in need of the money right now, and don't have plans on modifying the 34 anytime soon - and from reviews & peformance sheets, this turbo had amazing results back when I was researching. The turbo was purchased in 2018 for $1.9k, with the mods I got added on. Looking at the website now, for the same turbo they sell (ATR45SAT), with the current addons it adds up to $1830 for the turbo Current addons included: - Bolted dump adaptor - Ball bearing CHRA - Braided oil feeding line So I'm looking to possibly sell it for around $1800, with shipping included in that 1.8k, It cost me around $120 to ship - so yeah thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone was interested in purchasing. Cheers!
