when i put my foot flat down and go for it i get a weird noise from the back left like a tire rubbing noise , or simaler to it yet it isnt a tyre as im running my stock wheels and suspension still

its only under power that i hear it , if i accelerate like a nana or normal it doesnt happen

noise is louder when i have people in the car and only when under power , not cruising or nana accelerating ?

???

duno..

for a few of us..scott Craig and myself, when we put the car under heavy load theres a Vibration through the driveline.

mine sort of went away when i serviced the Transmission and transfer case, and a little more when I changed the oil in the diff's.

but its still there a little.

I noticed it really on became noticable when I lowered my car, so maybe its the same thing as you say when people sit in the car.

maybe havnt taken time to notice could this be my attesa pump by any chance

When you put your foot down, odds are pretty good that the car will transfer torque to the fronts so ATTESSA seems logical.

Have you changed the fluid in it yet?

no i might look into that as i had the car imported so am first new zealand owner , when it got serviced , complianced etc i thought they would taken car of all that but ye its only when car is working like actually working

got my 10000 k service coming up so will get that all looked at aswell with the weird sounds like cam belt noice from front when i turne car of so might be one of the belts ( not cam chain i know )

is the transfer case in back rear area or close to as ye its well cant explain but it only comes in after im through like 2 gear and power is down

Edited by Sidius

the transfer case is at the back of the gearbox.

sounds like an exhaust leak tho. youre probably not building up enough boost in first gear, but 2nd and above you are, and its pushing out a hole.

definatly not an exhaust leak i at least know that its rear right

my exhaust is rear left

ohh sorry i misunderstood as you said rear left in your first post. right where the exhaust is.

do you know which side is which? lol

my mistake and no its quite load and vibrates a little sounds like a tyre rub on speed yet it isnt ???

i think you mean attesa dude lol

there is a loop to run the pump on M35s

yeh? its also Ian, but you dont see me complaining LOL

so with servicing the attesa transfer case and or pump

any pointers , as in any mods that can be done while im there

nah. just use a 100% synthetic AT Fluid.

theres some how too's on the M35.info forum if IAIN helps you with the link

    • I don't know, I've never done it that way, but 1. While it is an interference engine, there is still clearance between the valves and the piston at all points in the regular timing cycle 2. There is not a lot of distance before you can't catch the top of the valve stem any more I don't know if 2 is greater or less than 1. But 3. If it doesn't work out you are f**ked, engine is coming out to disassemble so it is a big bet.
    • Semi slicks are horrible for road use, just use a high performance road tyre unless you really need the maximum grip. Noisy, unpredictable (amazing, until they are not), expensive due to very high wear and not good in cold and particular wet. And yes, it is a thing to store cars on stands instead of tyres if you know they are going to be parked up long term.....but who ever realises that a short park is going to stretch into years before it is out again!
    • I know in Australia you'll definitely get above 30c. Parked in the shade in Summer you'll be above that. 😛 But in cooler climates, you might get that warm driving on the highway for a bit, but you'd never get to full heat temp. I'll try and find some of my historical tyre temps between Aus summer and winter (be aware immin the warmer area of Aus too.)
    • I get that taking off the head is best but that's a bit much for "just" valve seals. I was just under the impression that one would be able to rotate to TDC and be able to temporarily drop the valve without losing it and effectively having to remove the head to then recover it. I never knew people actually pushed rope into the cylinder to do valve seals hahaha So just to confirm, just going to TDC will not work? In that case I know when I do valve seals I'll maybe just remove the head and do some other things while I'm there, or just wait until I do an engine build.
