Hey Domino

i use only sucrogen E85 in the big red drums. more expensive but 100% consistency in quality.

I only drive it on the track but the car runs/performs flawlessly

I have ID 1000cc injectors and Walbros

if anyone wants to see whats actually involved...

Diy injectors

Diy fuel pumps

I'd go the Deutschwerks pumps instead of the HKS. http://www.speedfors...1.html?cPath=96 $338 vs $740 for the HKS and supposedly a drop in replacement as well. No happy about that bit with the HKS's about either having to grind the pump body or pump housing to make them fit :O. Would be interesting to see if you have to do the same with the DWs.

As far as Ethanol percentage goes I guess as long as you know what you've got in your tank whether it be 60% in winter or 80%+ in summer then I'm sure you can have a couple "intermediate" maps set up with your Cobb AP so you can select based on the mixture of your ethanol/petrol blend. It wouldn't be hard to knock up a simple dash meter to convert and display the PCM signal from a COTS flex fuel sensor to tell you what you've just pumped into your tank and select your map accordingly...If only the ECU could accept this input and do it for you! Or are you just better off just watching your fuel trims and selecting maps based on this?

That's good about the ECU reporting the correct flow rates as well Martin. I like the idea that the conversion doesn't leave you with small compromises such as losing some of the factory niceties such as accurate displays. Once the warranty is over I think this is a must do conversion!

Have any of you guys considered running 98 on the street and buying drums of E85 for the track? You can pickup a 200L drum for about $500 and its FAR better than the crap out of the pump they claim is E85

Why would you pay that much for E85? If the percentage of ethanol is important (for competition purposes) I'm pretty sure you can get 100% ethanol (4%? denatured) for just around a buck a litre and make your own E85 up yourself.

Fungoolie, contrary to the info supplied on the web the DW's are not a straight drop in replacement. I've had a couple of sets now (800cc & 1,200cc) and both times we've had to make some modifications to get them to fit correctly.

Cheers

Oh so the injectors as well as the pumps arent direct replacements either? Thanks for the info Slip. Does anyone knopw of any injectors that just drop in? Or is there always going to be some mechanical or wiring adapter mods required?

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
