According to the Chassis Plate decoding sheet I have.

K-Coupe

B-2.6L (GTR)

N-Super Hicas+Attessa

R32-R32

R-2 Doors

X-GTR (16 inch Wheels)

F-5 Speed Manual

S-Intercooler+Turbo+EGI

MA-?

For Nismo GroupA Limited Edition I have the code RA

Also according to this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/341653-r32-gtr-nismo/ Nismo additions should have the build number BNR32-100XXX. XXX is the build number eg BNR32-100323

Check on page 2 where there is a Nissan fast picture and the code for it is RA.

Post up in the Fast thread your VIn number and see what the program says about the number but to me it looks like it's not a Nismo edition sad.gif

my GTR is exactly the same as this, its got the MA code in the vin numbe, they also have no rear window wiper and on the dash it has no switch for it either,

Thanks Chris. I've posted the vin number in the fasted thread. When I get the results I'll post it in this thread.

Cheers.

according to this http://imports.motortraders.net/imports/select.asp?make=Nissan&model=Skyline it looks like the rear window wiper was a standard feature, i think its an optional feature on the r33s

Chris, can you have a look at let me know your thoughts?

Good news is that the FAST and your build plate line up. Does the number stamped on the firewall match up with your build plate? Bad news, to me the chassis and model don't line up with the NISMO edition. I could be wrong, but NISMO edition was built in 1990 and into the start of 1991. I have been thinking that MA could be for some factory options, for example L-Fog lights, P-Sun roof. So MA could stand for something.

Even if it's not an NISMO edition it's still looks like a tidy car.

Yep the number stamped on the firewall matches the build plate.

Cheers Chris, appreciate the help.

Stunning car, and a good price!

re the NISMO plate, what you might find is that NISMO would attach these plates when fitting certain parts in their workshops. I've seen them done for NISMO clutches and based on the plate above RS590 refers to the NISMO rear link set (suspension parts).

No idea what MA is, but NISMO cars definitely had RA in the chassis code

Saw a thread previously (on the ipohne so hard to find) which said that MA may indicate a limited factory run or option (like Chris said), things like airbags etc. The nismo plate as mentioned relates to work done by Nismo and the number to what was done

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
