Thanks for your support and help guys, car was found sometime this morning in mile end on fire.

I would get pictures but i was told by my insurance they will be towing it. According to the police the outside seems to be in alright condition but the interior is heavily damaged.

Yeah Hostile, all thieves are scum. down.gif

Also in my case wanting to retain the standard steering wheel a detachable boss kit simply isn't going to work right? I would do it straight away if possible.

Either way I am keeping my eyes peeled and phone ready if I see your car mate.

:/ am i missing something :P

I looked around for ages for them - pretty much got laughed at by the racing fratenity (those who really want the boss kits) for the idea... Sucks. Seems like a perfect security device to me.

Yeah sounds good to me Steve :P

elir32, exactly.. i feel like driving a scooter now :(

Thanks Kien.

I actually think this would be the most effective alarm

Daaaym Dude!!

My kids ran into my office thinking I was watching porn on the PC.........bit of warning next time pls :P

how did they get through ur alarm and immobiliser if u had one?? Anybody using a 'kill switch'?? Just connect it to the wire supplying voltage to your fuel pump (if u have rewired it and the wire passes through the cabin). And hide that switch somewhere. So when they enter, they wont be able to drive off cos car wont get fuel since pump is disabled. Thats something I want to do. Good idea??

How else can a person steal ur car if they dont have a tow truck???? Bastards man, absolute scum, bad luck to them.

I have to second this one, having had my line broken into & theft attempted I know it shouldn't be that easy.

Still I'm upping my security further to make it very hard to steal. A good steering lock by itself is usually better protection than an alarm. Everyone should have one.

I've looked around for detachable boss kits that are air-bag enabled; They don't seem to exist. Which means it would be defectable if your car was released with airbags.

In saying that wouldn't the cars out there be defectable anyway! But yes i didn't think of the later model skylines with airbags.

I think it was acting up, even the central locking was playing games on me when i went to lock it the night before at home.

But the car was locked and secure when i left it that night.. i have a feeling someone must have seen me check the passenger door that was acting up before i left but i doubt it because they smashed the driver side window.

EDIT: Haha sorry Pete tongue.gif

Sorry to hear about your ride, I wonder if it was the same two knuckle heads on a scooter a few nights earlier, they were tampering with cars in Mile End also

I'm still waiting for them to release this : Magna volt

carrying around your removable steering wheel isnt exactly a good fashion accessory....

and having a removable gear shift in your pocket might get the girls asking questions...

Modify your electrical system so one major part can be easily taken with you.... or carry a wheel clamp in the boot.

fuel pump relays :) remove the relay... cya later

or in an auto... theres a wire that tells the car its in park, and can start... swtich this little bad boy and ur rig aint going anywhere

theres millions of diff ones u can do...

engine needs spark air and fuel... 2 of them are totaly electric controlled... there for switches and so on can be used.

for the weekend rig that for some silly reason wd b outside during the week... un hooking coilpack looms at the back, afm plugs or somthing is an easy fix... not sumthing you want to do daily tho...

at the end of the day... if they want it they will get it... and if they cant get it they will damage it badddd trying!

Sorry to hear about the theft then torching dude. I hate thieves, so as a minimum I have:

Clublock

Black wired alarm system

Immobiliser

and a few little secrets, plus I'm never far from my car.

If they do happen to get my car, I'll find it (and them) and they'd wish the cops got them.

;)

    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
