Hey guys.

Does anyone know what other cars used the same rear end as a 1991 R32 Skyline GTR? I keep stiking out as I am looking to replace EVERY seal and bearing in the cars rear end. I would think Nissan probably used this rear end in a couple cars.

Or better yet, can someone put me in touch with a company there in Australia that would be able to get these parts. I live in the United States and Skylines were never sold here. As such, NONE of my local parts stores even have skylines in their computer systems. One fellow I spoke to today said he had never even heard of a skyline! I have even called performance shops all over the USA today, and nobody has a thing. I am losing my mind!

Any help would be amazing!

Mate, z32 300zx Share the same parts.

Will all be off the shelf for em.

Cheers

I confirmed this in Nissan Fast, there may be more numbers than these, but if you print that page out go to your local Nissan and find the diff with those numbers in it you should be right.

Might be a stretch but the parts guy (Steve) at Northside Nissan here in Perth is VERY good at what he does and he has a GTR himself so he is an enthusiast too!

No idea if he'd be willing to ship anything to the US but it wouldn't hurt to ask.. +61 9409 0120 and our timezone is GMT+8 :)

Webber and Bubba, Thank you guys very much! I will try out both of these avenues and see what happens. I will see if the parts are the same here in the states between both the 300 and GTR first. If that fails, I will try getting in touch with the parts fellow. Thank you both!

    • Yeah, hard to find and a pain in the ass to change with the transverse engine. I’ve worked on a GTiR before and it’s not a job I’d ever want to do again. theres a company in South Africa that makes RS3 gearbox adaptors for the AWD SR20 including gearbox mounts, so I could modernise it and go a dual clutch with paddles. For now tho, it ticks all the boxes. Super cheap, can throw the kids and their junk in the back, and SR20 that I can turbo cheaply, a CVT that’s not a dog’s breakfast like the V35, and has 80% interchangeable parts with stuff I can source from the wreckers cheaply…. But it’s still unique. I love the wagon back of the Autech version. It’s cheap enough that I can buy another stock manual FWD Primera with SR20VE, swap the gearbox to the N15 pulsar short gear ratio box, swap out the brakes to the R32 ones I pulled off my 32, register it on club plates and take it racing. $1300 shipping from NZ. Heaps of parts and aftermarket builders for transverse SR20’s in NZ.
    • Hard to say, just pop the rocker covers off and have a look if you think it's cammed. You probably need to replace the valve cover gasket/half moons anyways.
    • From my youth: GTi-R clutch change is a massive pain. The gearboxes are fragile? But the car is super cool and I want one 😢
