... V6 and I believe it is stock.

Thanks.

:spank: r34's have an inline six engine stock.

And yes, you could be damaging your engine by driving it with a heavy vibration. You most likely have a misfiring cylinder.

Replace the spark plugs, if that doesn't fix it, take it to a mechanic.

Thanks for actually helping and only mildly ridiculing me.

Clearly I haven't the slightest clue of what i'm talking about.

Didn't know that six cylinders could be configured in a straight line or V shape (duh).

End of story I took it to the a mechanic,

It had contaminted fuel. (Possibly because it was sitting there doing nothing for 6 months before I bought it).

And was misfiring.

They drained and replaced the fuel, replaced the fuel filter and also replaced the spark plugs.

Thanks.

Yeah thanks, the car is fine now.

It might just be in my head but i still feel there is a very slight vibration and a minor loss in performance (maybe 5 to 10%).

Although it's difficult to compare to what is was first like because I can't remember. heh.

Performance should be much better....

Does it sound like a subaru? if so you proberly still have a probelm.

I suggest creating a new post in the maintanence section next time to advoid the ridicule :P

Hey I'm having the same problem, especially when first starting the car, on full steering lock, and in reverse.

which mechanic did you take it to? (whereabouts are you located even?)

are the vibrations still there?

and how much did it cost you to get it fixed?

thanks mate.

I'm not very good at taking cars to bits; But i'd like to help by telling my experience.

I had an NA 34 and i had terrible problems with its "coil packs"

If:

*you're getting that little yellow "engine malfunction" indicator on the dash

and

* you have already but in 6 brand new spark plugs;

and you are still getting misfiring; it could be the coil packs.

Bad news: a pack of 6 Splitfires (best option) off ebay will set you back around 450 bucks.

Good news (sort of) i have my used (but still working) Nissan coil packs for my car which id sell individually if thats what you'd like.

Performance should be much better....

Well the performance is 40x better than when it had vibration but probably on par with just before the vibration started.

The car remains very quiet and is still running well.

Hi, I am in Melbourne,

Took it to Sabbadin Automotive,

I no longer have any vibrations,

Cost me $500.

I think they got some second hand coil packs for like $80 to save me some money.

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
