It's true but that has always been the case

back in the day IBM was the OEM and Intel and AMD were clones and now Intel is the big boy you can find brands in SD cards like that also stemming back from 5.25" discs

Actually Intel made the first 8088 cpu which was put into the first IBM "PC" (the XT), which was based upon the Intel 8008, the first 8 bit microprocessor.

The 8088 was used in preference to IBM's own 801 processor, even though that cpu was more powerful than the 8088...

I bought the varrstone's and many of people have bought the Grid's, if the were so s**t people wouldn't buy them. I have no problem at all saying I bough Varrstone for my rig.

Lol. Ok.

It wouldn't have anything at all to do with the fact that some people just don't want to splash the big coin for genuine gear.

Really its a matter of choice. I mean no one cares when you spend hundreds of dollars for preschool style welding from AM Performance, why does it matter what wheels others buy for their cars?

This ^^^

Replica wheels are inferior in every way.

The more people supporting them the worse off for our scene, what happens if rays for example went broke as a result, coincidentally these brands would have no 'new styles'

Oh an for the record nothing about them is better, other than the price is cheaper.

Mad props to SAPOL for speed trapping the only 500m stretch of the parade that is 50km/h. Saving heaps of lives there guys. My tax dollars were definitely going to good use, paying for the 2 patrol cars and 4 cops mulling around as I cruised past at 45.

What J-Rad said isnt really defamatory, just sayin'.

Anyway, on the subject of wheels, I have genuine RAYS wheels, yet then I get given shit about how they are 'weak' offset. Can't win! lol

Im quite COMFY with my 17" BobJane T-Mart specials @ $125 each. They were on the stagea & I was very happy with how they looked, now they are on the track car.

Went along with some no-name ebay specials "drif-z" 18" mags on the stagea & am very happy with those. I dont see the need for brand name rolling stock.

I'm very glad I waited for my nismo lmgt4, and I was more than happy to pay a premium for quality Rays Engineering rims. I could have gone for cheaper (inferior) rotas, but I was specifically holding out for the 'real thing'.

i'm hoping the +18 offset 18x9.5 Enkei RPF01's are considered the 'real thing'

Love em, just don't have an excuse to spend the $2k on them.... yet...

Enkei's arnt fakes. They are not trying to be something there not an are high quality,

Cheap wheels are fine so long as they are not trying to be something they are not. replicas are what ticks me off.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
