If i see an import i will usually give a wave, this generally only applies to oncomeing traffic. If i have one follow me or infront of me, ill generally follow at a resonable distance

and give a "cya" flash of the lights when i turn off.

lol if someone flashed me i would just think wtf :S. i usually associate a flash of the lights with pull over haah

+1 to waving to a fellow skyline driver, although im sceptical they'd wave back,

have a question for you guys... what do you do when at the traffic lights, 2lanes turning into one, you have the right lane and a car pulls up in the left lane with there lane ending... do you put them in there place ( drag is on) or do you let them go??

I always feel the pressure that i should be infront and quite often will be tailgated by lesser powerful cars trying to prove they are fast or something... can be very irritating especially when your engine is cold and you dont want to be coming onto boost.

i always go in the left lane if im just chillen, as i see that as the slow/chill lane whilst the right lane is the fast/pass lane. imo if your in the right lane you should be ready to take the lead although if your warming up your car and dont want to hit boost yet then just go to the left

if im warmed up , ive become of the opinion of , well i only get so many squirts on these streets, if your going to take that lane then you obviously want to drag and challenge me so i just put the revs up and hose them off lol.....

if cold then i have to let them go.. living in jimboomba theres alot of long country roads so squirts are far and inbetween, have to make the most of squirts ,.. all in 80/90 zones so not illegal lol

how about a hand out the window waving while at the top of your voice yelling BYE, while you pass at 120 in 3rd :P

Hahahaha, that should be the official way every skyline owner has to do it lol

I always try to wave.

Sometimes just don't see them in time....

And with the bikes, a lot don't give the nod, I do, its a you're interested in what I'm interested in thing.

Most of the imports that don't wave back are generally people who arnt enthusiasts.

as a new silvia owner. ive noticed that other silvia owners dont acknowledge you in a wave, but they have the tendancy to stupidly rev their motors and let off BOV noises, or rip skids.

kind of makes me want to get out of the silvia and back into a stag

When driving, I try to wave at any import Skyline I see regardless of model.

Don't often get a wave back but sometimes...

I get a giggle out of it so that's all that matters. I have always done it for any car I own.

My parents always waved, beeped or flashed other Kombies and Beetles back when I was a kid and we were a VW family.

On the other hand, I also give any driver a BIG WIDE EYED shake of the head and the Phone hand signal if they are on the mobile when driving.

Hope they can lip read too cause it's a very exagerated "get off the F#@Kin' Phone"!!! Phhhhtttt. some people... I dunno... Who needs 'em. :glare:

Most of the time I don't bother waving as I get the feeling I wouldn't receive one back. However I still have done it sometimes in the past...

FYI - Police are exempt from the mobile phone law. ;)

Oh - how come that's not well known?

I certainly don't expect you - our friendly copper - to change the law; but it would certainly help goodwill between the public and the force if it was publicised that the police are not only required to be able to use the radio whilst driving, but also the mobile.

So I take it that police do not have to have sirens/lights on to be able to use the mobile whilst in motion?

We the public can get pinged for using the mobile after having pulled over to the kerb, but still have the engine idling eh?

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
