wow thats actually in really good shape ...

What's your opinion on the corolla atm?

it seems to drive well, only problems are

Right brake light not working

Dash - top half of the plastic is missing

Cracked headlights on the front

Aircon not working

It needs a CV Joint

That model DOES have a left side mirror so will need to put one on

Passenger windows winder thingo

The immobiliser he may be able to pay for ...

I also found a radiator hose and timing belt in the booth .. :s

Should I pass it back to him or just try and get him to pay for the immobiliser if hes willing?

That civic (red one in my list) was alright, good shape and all ... but a bit too new i like old cars LOL

the auto 88 corona is pretty nice, good interior and all .. HAS AIRCON

the celica is sporty and quite cool

cant decide if i should return the rolla and try for one of those (bet half of em are sold knowing my luck) or just stick to my rolla and get the immobiliser on

Yeah the things wrong with the car are not big problems though I should fix the brake light asap

He did say he was willing to take the car back as he didnt know the actual age of the car and so just randomly put 1980 so he said that was his bad .. if i return the car/get the immobiliser on i'd pay for half of it I reckon cos he was real fair to me and stuff so yeah

voted for corolla johnno.have owned three.2 78's and a 79.reliable,easy to work on.speeding car hit me and the rolla's chassis saved my life.plus got $500 bucks for the motor after the car was munched.+1 ke rolla

you could get that red civic james? it was pretty good imo im just not into civics ..

richard - id love a KE corolla, their all gone though, the one i saw was 800 bucks for very little ...

Currently mainly considering a 89 Celica/88 Corona (auto :( ) or my 86 Corolla Sedan ATM which may or may not be returned to owner tomorrow unless he wants to chip in for the immobiliser

I'll let you guys know tomorrow what happened to the car!

Maybe I should hold up for a really good KE Corolla or something ...

I want something to play with in my uni break though! thats only 2 weeks away .. and I should study for exams now actually ...

Bob the bunky is gone

I asked the owner if he wanted to go halves on the immobiliser, he said he'd rather just wait until the car was 25 years old and didnt need an immobiliser anymore so we swapped back confused.gif

Yeah I think he also said something about the car he was gonna buy had a major problem so he would need a car anyway so it actually worked out well .. im thinking of spending a bit more .. mayb sumthing with aircon for my pampered ass thumbsup.gif

Did KE corollas have A/C?

Ah ok, makes sense haha.

And no lol, no AC.

I just checked out a suzuki swift tonight, no AC no PS no central locking, no tacho, no EW.

Car was immaculate though lol. 1.3L carby and all.

$1850, pretty damn tempted cause its that good... Even though missing lots of luxuries...

Decision time..

    • Did you pay with a credit card? I'd be putting a charge back through then finding a new sparky to sort it out.
    • If you mean the alarm immobiliser; theyre internal to the alarm itself which makes that difficult; I couldnt even see where he put it; its not in the same place as last time; but with all black wiring it might be very challenging to trace  I had someone turn the key for me as I know it only primes for a couple of seconds As my post above; I am getting no voltage to the pump at all; but I am testing continuity of the power line (SB) from the pump plug to the relay fine. As well as the negative from the pump plug to a 12V constant.    Yeah; he blammed the no start on a bad battery; said I needed to get a new battery and it'll start. Turns out the battery drained because the tail lights had been on for half the day during the install (the rubber cushion on the brake switch gave out while he was testing it as I have a picture of the car from that morning with the tail lights off..i've replaced that). The battery was turning over the engine just fine for a long time; but got low since lights were draining it so it was too low to test a start after he finished. I bought a new one on his advice...$250 wasted. My original battery charged up just fine and is healthy.    It was running perfectly fine when I messed up the old alarm (programmed out the remotes). He couldnt start it after removing the old alarm; my assumption is that when he unhooked it; he didnt bridge the circuit back when trying to start it. Its always been perfectly fine. The ECU swap and pump were 2 years ago. It's never missed a beat in that time.
    • This is a big issue for me without the diff. I just have zero drive from the passenger side when drivers side has no traction. Bec's parents place has a crazy steep driveway with odd camber and I have never been able to get up. My bro-in-law's 130i with an (unknown brand) LSD gets up fine as does their dad's Hiace. My car stays at the bottom. We have other odd camber roads around here as we're elevated a bit and if it's raining I can get totally stuck around some hairpins.
    • Yeah, I am super excited for this.
    • Was the car running before he touched the car?
