i corrected it by winding the tap open a bit to bleed the pressure in the wastegate actuator out and it worked but i want to run minimal boost. (not my car but my mates 33) to get it to work i have to wind the boost up to about 11 psi and anything less, it will boost once then hold the pressure in the actuator and drives like a non turbo till about 4-5000.

can i remove the ball and spring? what will this do as it says you can on turbosmart's webpage.

thanks, sam.

I think the turbosmart ones you can remove just the ball... I'm not sure what the deal with it is but I did it with my dual stage and it worked.... Can't say it worked any better cause this was a long time ago

Worst that can happen is it will run actuator boost I guess

i had this issue with my turbosmart dual stage boost controller. in my case the tiny bleed hole was blocked. i'm not sure if the normal controllers have a bleed hole or not, but it may be worth looking for one.

my suggestion would be to scrap it and get a turbotech boost controller off ebay. they are only $30 or $40 and in my opinion work better than the turbosmart ones
