Hey everyone

I would like to let everyone know about my unfortunate dealings with a Ryan Lowe aka tranf4m.

on May 17Th i received payment for a turbo i was selling which came off my r32 gtr in perfect working order.

May 18Th - i mailed the turbo from Brisbane Queensland to Roasedale Victoria.

May 20th - turbo arrived to this Ryan Lowe

May 24th - i receive a txt msg about how the turbo is "broken" i queried it and received a pic of a oil line with a crack in it. I was also told the turbo would not fit his standard r32gtr. after it being taken off my stock 32 i found it hard to believe.

May 24Th - I took his word for it and sent the money back that afternoon(both with the same bank so the transfer was instant)

May 26Th - was told it was posted at 9am

June 4Th - queried the postage of the turbo back to me as it has been 9 days which is ample time for it to get from Victoria to Queensland even if someone had to use a push bike to get it here. was told it was posted last Tuesday which equates to the 30th still 4 days later then i was told first time it was mailed.

June 11Th - still no turbo(gave him another week before contacting again just in case he posted it on the 5Th)

no reply back

June 13Th - still no turbo

no reply

June 15Th - still no turbo

no reply

I have called him 6 times and left a message every time. i have not made any threats or questioned the reasoning behind the mystery turbo not fitting or the random crack that appeared in the oil line. i sent it and he didn't want it so i sent the money back in good will with the thought of getting the turbo back.

He will not return my calls so he is being difficult or he has died with his phone on charge because it rings out before going to the msg bank.

If you know this ryan lowe aka tranf4m tell him i want my turbo back.

I would not recommend you buy anything or sell anything to this bloke as you can all see a simple good deed doesn't always go in your favor. If you are ryan lowe and you are reading this i can guarantee karma will get the better of you my friend

1st rule of issuing refunds as a business: no refund until the product is in your cold dead hands. Treat everyone as a potential criminal, for everyone has the potential to be one. This can and should extend to private selling. Unfortunately you had to learn this the hard way :(

as above,

im a financial banking ombudsman. not advice, but what i would do

call my bank and lodge a dispute on the funds as "un received goods"

They may decline the matter due to authorising the transfer through internet banking.

If they decline it, make an ombudsman threat. as it will cost the bank over $680 if you simply lodge one.

i know it suck that they may get away with it, but doesnt mean you should be down the deal.

x 10000000000

I used to deal frequently on OCAU and had a few scammers try this on me. I always tell them - no item, no refund....

Yeh you live and learn. It wasn't much but it was the principle that there are some bad people about so let this be a lesson to other legitimate skyline owners don't trust anyone.

i have contacted the bank and was lucky enough to get askyline enthusiest on the other end and raised a dispute, he has 30 days to reply :)

what they do is they send three requests to the other bank to return the funds - it sucks that its at the discretion of the party who has to provide the goods

if they say no it gets rejected and he'll have to escalate it.. thats where the ombudsman threat will helpthumbsup.gif

    • I appreciate the detailed explanation, think I understand now. I spent the better part of last night reading what I could about shuffle and potential solutions. I had replaced the OEM twin turbo pipe with an alternate Y pipe that is separated further away from the turbo. The current one is from HKS and I had a previous pipe that was separated even further away, both have shuffle. I had heard that a divider can be welded in to the OEM pipe to remove turbulence, and figure that aftermarket pipes that are more separated would achieve the same thing. From what I read, most people with -10 turbos get shuffle due to their size, though it's a bit less common with -5s on a standard RB26. I think Nismoid mentioned somewhere it's because OEM recirculation piping is common in Australia with -5 cars. It seems that the recommendation tends to vary between a few options, which I've ordered in what I think is most feasible for me:  1. Retune the MAP or boost controller to try to eliminate shuffle 2. Install OEM recirculation piping 3. Something called a 'balance pipe' welded onto the exhaust manifolds. I don't know if kits for this are available, seems like pure fabrication work 4. simply go single turbo My current layout is as follows: Garrett 2860 -5s HKS Racing Suction intake MAF delete pipes HKS racing chamber intake piping hard intercooler piping,  ARC intercooler HKS SSQV BOV and pipe Haltech 2500 elite ECU and boost solenoid/controller HPI dump pipes OEM exhaust manifolds HKS VCAM step 1 and supporting head modifications Built 2.6 bottom end All OEM recirculation piping was removed, relevant areas sealed off I'll keep an eye out for any alternative solutions but can get started with this.  Only other question is, does shuffle harm the turbo (or anything else)? It seems like some people say your turbo shafts will explode because of the opposing forces after a while and others say they just live with it and adjust their pedal foot accordingly.
    • That worked out PERFECTLY! Thank you big time to JJ. He was able to swap me his stock diff. He drove all the way to me as well. Killer! Removal & install was pretty straightforward. The diff itself is HEAVY. So that’s a 2 man job.  Man does the car drive nice now! Couldn’t have worked out any better 👌
