No I'm not associated with these guys at all and don't get any kick back or this, but I got a good price and the service was great so I'm sharing the love.

I got a set of 235 45 R17s for 640 and he's driving them up from Winton to Wodonga for me as well, how's that for service lol

Call and speak to Laurence, tell him Dan sent you.

They go to Winton and Wakefield regularly so you can collect from them too.

I'm running them on a Volk 8" front and 9" rear which should be ideal. GT-R rims are 17x9 right? so should be fine. You could probably fit a 245 if you wanted to I think.

I've not driven on the KU36 but the consensus on here is that they are a good tyre for the money but we all know these are not R Comps so the grip will never be that good, but for the price and considering I'm just doing this sort of thing for fun, it makes them a decent choice.

From what I read around the web, the RS-R should be a touch faster but not last quite as long. I'm not as concerned about the longevity as I wont be driving them on the street.

Talk all this with a grain of salt, I don't have the tyres yet and my experience is limited to the tyres that came on the car (215 wan li's on 7" rims) and some very old RE55s (which were bloody awesome when coming from Wan Lis lol).

It seems that all the R31 guys are loving the RS-R's and the KU31. They all say the KU36's are crap with grip and they loose turn in. The evo and WRX guys run the KU36's and say they are an awesome thing. I spoke to a mate who was running these on his Cyborg and he says they are fantastic for the money, but the sidewalls are rubbish. If he runs 38psi he gets understeer and 32psi the sidewalls flex like a mofo but it turns in. He is running 5deg neg in the front however.

I've just bought some KU36's myself and will be seeing how they stack up against the old TPG's I had. They are a cheap tyre and they seem to hold on well, so I think they will be a good thing. They are also a very wide tyre for the casing size. I've just picked up 215/45's that are as wide as 225's.

    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
