Ok, due to the number of people fitting these at the moment; I thought I'd supply my rough adjustment numbers for initial set up.

These numbers won't be ideal for everyone, but the aim is to have a ballpark setting to speed up the fitting process, as the fronts come set extremely low, and the rears rather high. You can then fine tune heights to suit your preference, or even go to corner weighting to acheive a perfect setup.

Front;

Free length of coilover assembly; 387mm from underside of top mount plate, to shoulder of lower mount (the part that makes contact with the forged mounting arm)

Spring length; 195mm from underside of top mount plate to upper spring collar (the part of the collar in contact with the spring and plastic washer)

This will give an approximate guard to hub centre measurement of 360mm

Rear;

Spring perch height; 45mm from the widest dia. of the machined perch to the outer spring collar (the part of the collar in contact with the spring and plastic washer)

The spring perch faces down; so the measurement will be taken from the highest part of the shoulder to the lowest flat surface of the lower spring collar.

You will still be using the rubber bumper from the spring cup in the lower control arm.

This will give an approximate guard to hub centre measurement of 360mm

The reason I haven't included ground clearance measurements is depending on rim diameter, tyre profile, and bodywork heights; these measurements will vary wildly if you're running 17x7s with 215/5517, versus someone running 19x9.5s with 265/35/19 and so on.

My car doesn't scrape on very much at all and with 245/45/18's on 18x8 V35 rims; has about a 12mm gap between guard & tyre when looking in from the side of the car; which is about spot on for my eye.

dont forget to mention those measurements are on an RS/RX model. ARX will be differernt in distance to guard :P

I reckon they would still be fairly decent as a starting point as they are neither excessively low, nor particularly high.:thumbsup:

the other difference is i know i run a different diametre trye on the AXIS........ its smaller than the rest dunno why but yeah!

I didn't think anyone had fitted these to an ARX yet, would it be possible?

Mounting points are all the same, so there's no reason why not.

Possibly the only reason manufacturers wouldn't recommend, is because you may not be able to match standard height if you wanted to go that way.

30mm below standard AR-X height would be fairly straightforward though.

so far i have only put the fronts in but im sitting at around 352ish from the guard to hub centre,

i'll see how i go with the rears tomorrow and take it for a test drive but i think im gonna have to raise it a bit :ph34r:

Lol, that's pretty low , probably looks sweet tho':whistling:, so the measurements didn't work for you Theo?

Edit; how far down over the metal guards do your plastic overfenders extend?

Also, are you running 225/45/18s or 245/45/18 on yours?

ok the front measurements worked for me but the rear was a pr!ck........ rear plate was 25mm not 45mm and i wound the shock all the way to the bottom and i think it was still a little to long........

but now its sitting 360mm all round :D

and the rears went it.

but they will need a 3mm thick washer to also go in between the fork as there is a bit of movement. once we pulled it apart and did that it all went perfect.

Absolutely right Aaron, I've posted that a number of times in other BC related install queries; that and the rear OEM top mounts needing to be re-used.

Probably should've put it in here; but it was more of a set up guide than an install guide. I've sent a bunch of PMs with more detail to those who've asked. I might have to cut/paste one of my PM "how to" guides into this thread so the info is all in the same place.

Get used to the improvement over stock that these provide; then (gratuitous self promotion) maybe point your GF to some Swaybars?:whistling: After all; power is nothing without control...

lol nah she spent $1k on me i think thats enough.

ill do sway bars eventually but as ive made a dramatic improvement over the previous suspension ive had, i think ill just get used to these first..

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
