Lol, we've all done that shit at some point of time in our lives, pity you got caught though. At least you've learnt your lesson, and expensive one too, i'd reckon.

OP's new avatar is wheel boobs!!! lol jokes

But to answer your question, I'd take the 3 months and save the petrol and maintenance money, then after 3 months, dump it back into the car on parts and upgrades :D

Ive never made a report before on SAU, but in this instance I know I did the right thing.

OP - Look outside your square, one day you'll realize how immature you're being in regards to the avatar/profile picture.

ouch, most i have been done for is 35 over, im sure i was lased at over that but never got stuck for the full whack. The cop must have missed his donuts that day, still pretty crazy speed to do on the street, im assuming it was a freeway at least?

40 over ? Don't stop.

dont stop? unless your on a Hayabusa or some crazy bike they will chase you to the ends of the earth on a freeway, its only through a couple of red lights and school zones at 40 that they will call it off, not worth the risk IMHO.

plus outside of NFS hot pursuit and GTA i just cant bring myself not to obey the law. .well at least once I have their attention..

was a 4 laned road. not wet. no cars. industrial estate (no housing where little kids can run out.. with a stupid 70 speed limit. i know it was still stupid but i new my surroundings before risking other peoples lives. but anyway we live and learn

tangles get the f over it . that was likeeee soooooooo 2 pages ago like oh maaaa gawd like full draining it

they are supposed to give chase to 160 then stop, often they don't but if anything goes wrong they are in big poo poo.

Most skylines I've driven will do 160 in 3rd, easy.

Just as long as its not somewhere ludicrous IE in a school zone etc you should only ever been worrying about that sort of speed on the motorway/industrial park/salt flat anyway, you know, time and place and all ?

I mean really, if your speeding anything over sort of 10 up in a built up area where you cannot possibly predict what is coming from where, you deserve to get hung anyway.

In saying this, drive to the conditions, how most speed limits are selected is a very arbitrary process anyway so I guess you could say that if that's as much thought as the people in charge put into the speed limits of various areas then they can't be surprised when people give the limits that same level of thought on their way to work every day.

People are still going to speed anyway, we'll probably have a larger amount of road deaths this year then last, judging by the figures, which I guess shows the effectiveness of the various speed enforcement programs around the country

Moral of the story, you can generally feel what is a safe and acceptable limit for the road your driving on, it won't be the same for all drivers and all cars, but I guess that's what situational awareness is for, drive to conditions and that includes the drivers around you.

i wouldn't say they do it easy. they might do it, but they would be bashing on the limiter. a commodore or falcon would be close to doing it in 3rd as well. in fact i think the missus SSS would be close to doing it in 3rd as well as the gear ratios in it are pretty close to that of a skyline.

Was just about to post this also!

I had the same thing happen to me years and years ago, had the option of 1 pt or 3 month suspension, took the 1 pt suspension and drove sedately for a year, by the time the year was over I had completely forgotten about the 1 pt and didn't realise until a couple months after I had my full 12 pts back. As mentioned if you choose the 1 pt option, you are not classified as having a license suspension (which sticks with you for 5 years btw before insurers no longer ask), it's already hard enough to get insurance having a modified import, try doing it with a license suspension on top of that...

I was going to suggest that you take the 1 pt option for a year for the same reason above (ie insurance premiums go sky high if you've lost your licence), until you posted up that you've lost it before!

Your past is following you I'm afraid.

I've only ever driven fairly quick ones, so my viewpoint is no doubt skewed.

wish the skylines had a closer ration box tbh.

Didn't read anything but posting anyway. 1 point can be lost for almost any reason. If you buy an R34 GTR, chances are you may get pulled over and probably defected. 1 point gone.

im pretty sure in Melbourne you don't get demerit points for defects

    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
