Big fight on wednesday night fellas...

Who is going to watch it?

I am a massive Greeny fan but i think he has picked a bloke past his prime. There heaps of arguments for and against, as Hopkins is also dominating at that age so i reckon it should be a good one.

Still, it has to be better than the Mundine - Tolliver farce that i saw a while ago...

Green for KO within 6

Hey Martin,

As far as boxers go he seems like a striaght up sort of fella. Not so full of himself. Lets hope he gets the KO..

I would give my left testicle to watch a boxing match over a UFC boring homo wrestling drunk pub brawl anyday.

Just my opinion, i know i will cop some sort of flak for that comment :nyaanyaa:

Each to thier own

Real men don't need gloves......or throw in the towel when they get a blood nose.........or have their opponents hand-picked for them :nyaanyaa:

Boxing these days is all about money........different story back in the day when boxers weren't dictated to by their managers.....most only had a trainer, not a manager.......Ali was the greatest and always will be

......and who said Green hasn't gotten cocky in his old age???........I must be watching a different channel to you blokes........admittedly, he's not as bad as Mundine, but not as good as him either unfortunately.

The Green (with no Tattoos) that fought Mundine for the 1st time (and got absolutely flogged) was a humble bloke..........the new Green that's come out of retirement with all the new Tats has got a massive ego problem

Agreed. Since he has come back out of retirement and DOMINATED he has got a little cocky..

It is unfortuantely most about money these days though. I get a lot of entertainment from watching friday night fights on Fox as it is still some quality fighters (Obviously not compared to the like of Pacman, Money man mayweather, JMM, Darchinyan, Klitschko etc) but it still is raw entertaining boxing not for money, but for glory.

Oh and by the way, it is very hard for a boxer to lose 9kg at his prime weight to fight someone in thier prime and expect to perform or even win as Greeny had to do fight Mouth - dine. There was no agreed catch weight. it was set by camp Mundine and they were the terms. Thats it. In the end i dont recall a "flogging" either. i beleive it was only 5 pints or so. Not bad over a 12 round fight...

Coming from experience (7+ years in boxing and coaching) to lose weight when your body fat percentage is extremely low and then asked to do 12 rounds is a MASSIVE task.

I lost 3 kg from my fighting weight of 89kg and then fought and it was like by the end of the second round i was going to die from exhaustion.

Hats off to any fighter, UFC or boxing who can do that and dominate

Don't get me wrong, I love my boxing...........wasn't too long ago that a bunch of us would go to the old Hilton pub (South Road) and watch Tyson fights (when he was the good guy :O)

But like I said, these days it's all about the purse and the reason Green has such a big head these days is from ONE fight a couple of years ago...Roy Jones jnr........I don't rate his recent wins as much as that fight which put him on the map.

Having said that, Green will take down this old fella from the States..........who's not sure what weight division he belongs in.......and should stick to acting in "B" grade movies :P

hahahaha agreed

Was it 'Rocky Balboa' he was in? Funny as.

People should remember that Greeny also fought BJ Flores who was the no.1 light heavy contender 8 yrs Greenys junior and came over undefeated...

Still, I very much agree with you Pete, less money more glory should be the way to go!!

Absolutely gutted! Agreed Pete, i DID NOT expect that result!! I was very dissapointed in Greeny's effort last night.

Whenever he came foward and put pressure on Tarver it worked effectively and if he would have done that from the opening bell, the reult, in my opinion, would be very different.

I dont know about being weak throwing in the towel pete, he could hardly stand and thought the fight was over. If i was his coach, i would have done the same thing. You cannot expect fighters to continue under that sort of condition. Refs call fights in UFC as well when the opponent is in no condition to continue...

Maybe he will retire. I dont think he should, he probably has another year or two in him.

Well done for your effort Greeny

Matty, I actually feel for the guy........everyone (including me) expected him to set the pace from the 1st bell and be the aggressor very early......the little bit I saw, almost felt like he was pacing himself

Cost him the Cruiser Weight Title......and unusually, Tarver has offered the re-match.......normally a thing the loser of a fight would ask for

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
