*Are you sure about that lol There isnt only one GTR mechanic in Sydney mate, lots of us on here have done it for a living*

I'm well aware of this fact as I rang about 5 different workshops before opting with Dart and funny enough, Advan where you say you were, were one place who said I could well get high 200's to 300kw with stock turbos and the mods I have so I'm not sure why there is so much doubt in the power figure?

well I guess everyone is entitled to they're opinions but I'm happy with the way the car is. Jims dyno is apparently de-tuned 20 kw for race cars or something so power readings are 20kw less on paper than actual power figure. So car On paper was 199kw before and 261kw after but Jim said actual power is about 280kw. Totally different car to drive and big difference In power. I can definatly feel the increase and was told car could have been pushed even further but he kept it safe. The power figures are on paper And I will post them soon. I'm not saying anyone's opinions or suggestions are wrong. I'm happy with the car and Jim definatly seems to know what he's talking about and doing so I have faith in his work aswell as researching positive feedback from others who have used dart before I went there.

199 to 261 sound spot that's about the results we see, i prefer to run a little less boost but it depends on the car and the owners wishes.

great result and great car... the R34 GTR still attracts so much attention.

(all of the std turbo'd 34 gtr's we have done i generally see 195 to 210)

you've done everything correct in my opinion. trust your tuner, take advice from others, question the tuner if you are unsure, etc. glad you are happy with the car! any pics or videos to share?

Thanks for the positive comment STATUS. Definatly still a great car for they're age in both drivability, performance and looks in my opinion. I'd definatly rather spend 45-$50000 on one over a new SS commodore or something.

The way you and others are talking though its like we dont know what we are talking about. Because we are behind a keyboard we know nothing, we must just be keyboard warriors who have only ever built cars on GT5 which is far from the truth. I worked at Advan for 4.5 years and built countless GTR's. Street cars, time attack cars, drag cars, show cars etc I have seen the results of what 1.15 bar of boost does to ceramic wheels.

We dont doubt the power figures, we doubt the longevity of the turbo's at those boost levels. An R34 GTR will happily make that power, but for how long

I think we have all made our point and your happy with the car so thats the main thing.

NOW ya tell us all after pickin the arse out of this entire thread stupid.gif.

I haven't once said or implied yous don't know what yous are talking about. If anything its you who was talking as though I don't realise there's more than one gtr tuner in Sydney or Jim/Dart don't know they are talking about. If you look back I actually thanked everyone for they're comments, suggestions and input. I can't control the others opinions on here as Unfortunatly I'm not God. they made there opinions or thoughts just as you did yours. I don't doubt you worked at advan for 4.5 years and do know quite a lot about these things and if you know know Jim well like you said then give him a call and ask him yourself why he did what he did as I am far from clued up on the technical side.

I think we have all made our point and your happy with the car so thats the main thing.

That is the main thing and the reason I started this thread in the first place. Happy with the car and happy with the job. End of story

    • Did you pay with a credit card? I'd be putting a charge back through then finding a new sparky to sort it out.
    • If you mean the alarm immobiliser; theyre internal to the alarm itself which makes that difficult; I couldnt even see where he put it; its not in the same place as last time; but with all black wiring it might be very challenging to trace  I had someone turn the key for me as I know it only primes for a couple of seconds As my post above; I am getting no voltage to the pump at all; but I am testing continuity of the power line (SB) from the pump plug to the relay fine. As well as the negative from the pump plug to a 12V constant.    Yeah; he blammed the no start on a bad battery; said I needed to get a new battery and it'll start. Turns out the battery drained because the tail lights had been on for half the day during the install (the rubber cushion on the brake switch gave out while he was testing it as I have a picture of the car from that morning with the tail lights off..i've replaced that). The battery was turning over the engine just fine for a long time; but got low since lights were draining it so it was too low to test a start after he finished. I bought a new one on his advice...$250 wasted. My original battery charged up just fine and is healthy.    It was running perfectly fine when I messed up the old alarm (programmed out the remotes). He couldnt start it after removing the old alarm; my assumption is that when he unhooked it; he didnt bridge the circuit back when trying to start it. Its always been perfectly fine. The ECU swap and pump were 2 years ago. It's never missed a beat in that time.
    • This is a big issue for me without the diff. I just have zero drive from the passenger side when drivers side has no traction. Bec's parents place has a crazy steep driveway with odd camber and I have never been able to get up. My bro-in-law's 130i with an (unknown brand) LSD gets up fine as does their dad's Hiace. My car stays at the bottom. We have other odd camber roads around here as we're elevated a bit and if it's raining I can get totally stuck around some hairpins.
    • Yeah, I am super excited for this.
    • Was the car running before he touched the car?
