Hi all, I've done some searching and found a few (fairly old) threads some showing diagrams listing all the coolant hoses for the RB25 - but to replace them all with new genuine Nissan hoses it will cost about $400. (I replaced them all once on one of my old RB25's!)

Does anyone know of an aftermarket kit that does the job - say one made by Gates? I do realise some of the hoses can be replaced by generic bits of hose, but some of the trickier bends are too hard to replicate...

Surely I'm not the only person thats come across this issue? And surely I'm not the only tight arse around here! :D

No kits found by me. I have written in a few threads with the 2 diagrams. There was about 14 hoses all up I think?

I would strongly suggest buying the OEM Nissan items for the 4 heater hoses plus replacing the 4-way metal join that is down above the starter motor. I used Gates racing silicon for the 2 x radiator hoses. For the other 8 or so hoses under the plenum I took everything off and went behind the desk at Repco to find suitable pipes from other cars that have similar bends and diameters(typically other jap cars have similar pipe sizes - I think they are metric). The hoses connecting to the throttle plate I think is generic 7.5mm ID gates hose - CHEAP !

This was 2 years ago and no leaks since :)

(eg. the other day I bought a Corolla heater hose 13mm for $18 at Supercheap. I used one small straight section for the BOV return hose and achieved a perfect fit. Still 2 bends left for other stuff around the engine bay).

Yeah I found the diagrams you posted, took a printout to Nissan and ordered them all for about $433, I just use the VL radiator and heater hoses though...

Less headaches for sure buying from Nissan, I just thought a company such as Gates would have brought out a kit!!

Cheers

Just thought I'd update this thread with some part numbers for anyone else looking to replace their hoses.........

Compare the letter to the attached image -

A – There can be 2 part numbers for this. Series 1 / early S2 have an ‘S’ shaped hose as shown in the pic, Later Series 2 have a 90 degree hose.

Series 1 p/n is 14056-75T16. Series 2 p/n is 14056-17U00

B – 14056-75T21

C – 14056-21U10

D – 14056-75T10

E – 14056-21U20

F – 14056-21U00

G – 21307-21U20

H – 21307-21U15

90 degree hose for Turbo coolant return at the back of the head is 14055-21U00

I'm trying to find a pic or part number for the hose that comes off the plenum at the back and joins to the coolant return for the turbo.

The threads for simpletool's diagrams don't seem to be in the system anymore and I've spent the better part of around an hour searching with only a few pics of other ways around the problem. I think one way is just using a longer braided hose straight to the plenum, but I don't have the time or money right now. Maybe in the near future. I just have a leak in that hose and want to fix it asap for now.

You might want to try Boost Junkies from the UK. They do all sorts of pipes for Skylines and I'm sure they'll be happy to ship to the UK.

I just ordered a full set of silicon breather hoses for 130GBP or 190AUD. Like the ones in this picture http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=159641

Anyone know where I could get the coolant bypass hose (E) ?

Its got a slight bend in it, has anyone matched this with another hose or just used OEM nissan pipes.. Can't seem to find one and mine split last week.

Yep - on one of my motors (a while before I started this thread), I just used a straight bit of hose that had the right I/D and same length and it bent into shape when everything went back together and it has been fine since.

2nd motor, I was able to buy it from Nissan using the above part number, but I have no idea if they're still available.

    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
    • Does that German restaurant still exist in the old place out the NW end of Goulburn? When I say "out the NW end of"...I am really being vague. It was 1997 when I was last there, and the only point of reference I can recall is that it was on the opposite side of the main drag from the big merino. And when I say "opposite side of the main drag", I don't mean "on the main drag". It was either a couple of streets back from there, or might have even been out in the sticks a bit further. Was an old farm building or mill or somesuch. And when I say "the big merino" I might actually be thinking of a completely different part of town, because I just looked on maps and the big bugger is not where I remembered him to be! The food was good, consisting largely of various German mystery-meat sausage/loaf things and kartofflen.
    • So while the second sentence is completely correct and the whole point of the conversation, the first sentence bears consideration. If this bloke is just hoping to throw big turbos on and drive it around, because there are no helpful facilities at all in his tropical paradise** then he likely has zero chance of even knowing what the TP is on the last column in the stock maps, let alone know whether the ECU is operating anywhere near it or past it. So the point is very very moot. And, per what I said before, at stock boost on those turbos, you may well be off the end of the map. **I'm just back from Vanuatu, so I know exactly what small Pacific nations can be like wrt paradise without requisite facilities. But it's not even that simple. I put a high flow on my car and had to drive it around without a proper tune because of the lack of opportunity*** to put the bigger AFM and injectors into it to allow it to be tuned. I had to turn the boost down to less than I had before, and back off the boost controller's ramp, because it was exploring parts of the map that it didn't drive in before, and really couldn't access for tuning on the dyno either, and so was pinging. It was still well within the last column, because when I first**** set up the Nistune on the Neo I rescaled all axes of the maps to give some more space to explore. ***Family dyno was broken ****This was 13 years ago, and the TIM thing wasn't a thing then and so TP would definitely grow when pushing past the stock tune's limits.
    • Yep, this bit another local owner. I caught it before putting the transmission back into the car, what I noticed was the pressure plate fingers weren't flat and even. It's more obvious with the pull style clutch because the throwout bearing ring was visibly not flat once everything is put together. Nismo should really update their instructions to call out this specific detail. I'm not even sure the clutch as-shipped orients everything properly.
