makaveli
Hi guys, My r32 gts-t brakes look different to my mates 32 gts-t brakes. They have little fins in the front calipers and say sumitomo on them, is that normal for the 32 gts-t's? thanks Mark Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/37570-r32-gts-t-brakes/ Share on other sites

predator
Sumitomo or whatever it is is just what's printed on the standard gts-t calipers. Its what I have on my R33 and most I've seen. I think some of the earlier r32 (and maybe some r33) have some brakes that are stamped with something else. I think they're pretty much the same though in terms of stopping force, etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/37570-r32-gts-t-brakes/#findComment-758721 Share on other sites

09ONE_32
Yeah R33 brakes will be a pretty good upgrade for an R32 GTST, They produce good stopping power on an R33 which is a fair bit heaiver than an R32 and I believe that the 33 rotors are bigger which will help with brake fade issues aswell. RaseR
Mine also has the fins on the brake calipers and are stamped 'Sumitomo', it's a '92 GTSt Type-M...My friend used have an R32t as well, its brakes were identical to mine....The only other brakes I've ever seen on a '32 are the puny GTS style and the big GTR ones...wierd Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/37570-r32-gts-t-brakes/#findComment-766536 Share on other sites
Roy
Every R32 GTST with std brakes i have seen all have the same calipers you describe. If the external appearance is smoother but still says Nissan on them then its possible he has R33 GTST calipers or R32 GTR calipers. As for upgrading to R33 calipers i dont really see the point, rotors maybe but not caliper. They have the same number of pistons and same piston diameters and still only accept the 30mm thick rotor. The R32 GTR brake caliper again is still 4-pot and has the same size piston diamter but can accept a 32mm thick rotor. My R32 has the same brakes as urs too, its a 92 type m, brakes have heat sink things and sumitomo printed on them A bit off topic but can you use r33 disks in an r32? I know they are slightly larger diameter, will they fit? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/37570-r32-gts-t-brakes/#findComment-767125 Share on other sites
