Hello all,

My friend has an R32 GT-R which is 8dB too loud (Dickson inspection). Would anyone have an exhaust lying around? Perhaps a bit of a long shot. We would take any exhaust, aftermarket or stock (prefer stock) but having a second exhaust we could put an extra muffler in it if need be, to make it quiet enough. Or if someone has one they would rent out for a day or two, that would be great also.

Cheers,

Anthony.

Did your 31 drive into a townhouse complex southside Sunday? Saw a white 31 4door with 4 lads in it that looked mighty shadey .

Just wanna make sure we dont bash the wrong guys if one of our cars gets a BnE. Collectively we have a 31, 33, 34, 32 & 34 GTR and some badass owners where I live.

No mate, my skyline is missing wheels, brakes, suspension, hubs, radiator, battery at the moment :P It sits on my driveway on stands haha hasn't had any rego in a fair while. Hope everything is alright though.

buy some of that dimpled foil looking exhaust gasket stuff. cut a flange shape out to suit your exhaust flange then dont cut the inner hole out, just drill 3 8mm holes in the middle and baby it to and from the inspection. i did it to a vx r8 clubsport and it knocked off 12db for a dickson inspection

Thanks for that mate. I was thinking about something like that, we put 1 baffle in between the cat / cat back section of the exhaust and it was still 8dB too loud. Though the baffle we used still had a lot of holes in it. Could I run both baffles do you think?

in this thread Benm discribes the differences between the GTSt and the GTR exshaust, base on that i think the cat back i have at home which didnt fit my GTSt may be for a GTR, if you like your more than welcome to use it, BUT it is still a 3inch so im unsure that it would be quiet enough....

Thanks for that mate, would you be looking to sell it?

Yes I have no use for it... I'll let you have a look at if first and if it what you want you can make me an offer... It's fairly dingged up and scratch... It's at my mates house on the north side... when did you need it for?

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
