Rb26 Oil Leak

G'day guys,

I grabed my 1st import a month or so ago. A R32 GTR. Everythings awesome now (fixed the fuel gauge and speedo in about 30mins)

But it leaks oil, out the dip stick pipe. Seems to be coming out at pressure too. I called my local import service centre and they reckon its a engine out job to fix and is caused by bad seals.

Can anyone conferm this for me? or have any ideas on how to stop is pissing oil over my engine bay.

umm yeah they are probably right.

most likely reason for the dipstick loosing oil is pretty bad blowby in the rings (worn rings). You can confirm with a compression test.

In the meantime, turning the boost down might help.

The next most likely option is a blocked PCV valve under the plenum, but it is damn hard to remove with the engine in anyway.

Its only running stock boost. But picked it up with a fair few kms on the clock.

Always planed to rebuild the motor. Just not so soon.

you can also just live with it as long as you like. obviously it will only get worse over time but it's not like it's urgent to fix....

might just bite the bullet and go for a mild rebuild. but well have too see i guess.

Might be worth finding a 2nd hand motor with warranty from a wreckers.
