So I received a preview of the coil valley cover badge....

The engraving will begin shortly to also include a custom badge for where it says "Twin Turbo" however... won't disclose what it says as it is a shit stir to previous work done on the car.

MNP 33GTR for the win!

Cheers bud,

I may be ordering my Custom Grind cams this week, receiving some parts for the VCT and a couple other bits.

Awesome, im very interested to hear how this vct goes

It's getting a tune without VCT first, in most likely in a couple months or after when I go to the U.S. I will do the VCT considering it would only take a couple days to do if that.

The main part would be in the tuning I assume.

I know the engine is in, box is in, just needs the radiator, valve springs(getting done when its in the car) and then once I have the car back and I am going to get a Catch can set up made.

Where did you go to get this made if you don't mind me asking? Mate wants a Nismo item but there doesn't seem to be any so this could be an idea.

I got it made by Aaron Dryden, You can also order design's through Dryden Motorsports.

Aaron does drafting for Dryden Motorsports now, he had to do mine because it was more involved design wise then they usually are.

Just good Dryden Motorsports and they'll come up.

On another note.

So, not much to do with the GTR has come about yet... I think they are doing run in now hahaha so on my weekend I have set a couple goals.

Number 1 goal was to repair the bike I crashed a couple months back(just need to connect lines now)

Number 2 goal was to clean my carport(In progress, I'm on break :P )

Number 3 goal was to get my 1972 Toyota Corona running and washed... Goal completed.

The main reason I wanted to get this car out and washed.

The car belonged to my Late Pop, He was given it by my Great Aunt when they had to go into a nursing home.

When I killed the ECU in the car my Pop told me I can have the car if I looked after it, about a week later he passed.

The car holds ALOT of sentimental value to me obviously.

I have also just bought his motorbike off my Grandmother, she was going to sell it after I repaired it however I decided I would like to own it so I bought it.

thats good, i like that!! things with sedimental value, are worth alot more than what money can buy....

Hey did you end up finding out what goodies the engine had? I remember you mentioning in your for sale thread (at the time) that you thought it had stage 2 cams.

Well it was a standard engine not the stroker as it was in the import papers.

It DOES have cams unlike what I was told by a "big" shop... unknown duration tho, It's certainly equal to poncam's tho.

The piston had "gas" porting tho so that was different.

i feel tease......ed. where's the sound clip !!!

It's only just had it's first start up today... however I bought a GoPro yesterday... by... "accident" and yes it will get a sound clip soon ;)

    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
