Thats a bit odd.

Something to check, other than the obvious tension of ya belts.

its a bit of a long shot but worth a look.

People commonly upgrade the earths to reduce headlight dimming ,, so maybe they have disrupted the earth somehow.

You will probably have an earth strap running from the block, to the body of the car. have a look around for that and make sure its still connected.

check that your battery terminals are clean and connected nice n tight.

check the connections on the back of the alternator to make sure they are all sweet.

Its either gonna be

1) your alternator output has dropped for some reason. ie: belts slipping

or

2) the power flow around your car has changed ie: bad earth, loose terminal etc

sounds good il have a look tomorrow cheers for that. i thought i would of got laughed at for this post but im being serious lol. how tight should the belts be.. how do you check for tension?

Cant really answer that one, i would assume that the correct tension would be , tight enough that they don't slip.

And i would have also assumed that, if they were slipping, you would be able to hear them squealing.

a quick google around got me this, im sure there will be more, out there in google land.

see the car handbookfor the correct method of checking the ten- sion. If one is not mentioned press the belt firmly mid-way between the two most widely spaced pulleys; there should be about 1/2 in (12mm) deflection in the belt.

Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
