CLAMPS-INDUSTRIAL_CLAMPS-INDUSTRIAL_T_BOLT_CLAMPS.jpg

i went and brought these for basically anything i can get them around... raditatior hoses, intercooler etc..

I wanna see one of these on the fpr boost line

I've just experienced exactly the same issue myself after cranking the boost up to 20psi

Do not cable tie your vacuum hoses... that is a temporary, half-arsed solution at best...

They are called cable ties for a reason; because that is what they are designed to do - not clamp hoses!

Get proper hose clamps or you will risk the same thing happening again :/

I had to look around before I found those spring hose clamps similar to the OEM ones; East Coast auto supplied what Autobarn and others could not.

(The other screw and bolt style clamps don't seem to come small enough for many of the vacuum hoses)

cable ties are fine for small vacuum hoses if placed properly. i use them on all my vacuum hoses and have never had one come off even with 25psi of boost and i have a lot of vacuum lines.

well my engine bay is now all bolt clamped, blue silicone hosed, and zip tied to the max.

Tested 18psi on it last night n all good.

Motor also seems perfectly fine so some momentary det didnt harm her

I've read somewhere (maybe a tuner on here mentioned it), someone did a expensive buildup and got it tuned etc. Replaced all the rubber vacuum hoses with blue silicon (cheap or decent silicone i'm unsure).. well anyway the one on the fuel reg blew off and destroyed the engine.

Momentary det is almost harmless. Its the shit which rolls all the way to red line which causes damage, and its pre ignition which blows your motor.

yeah i got the high grade silicone hoses n that stuff goes on and holds twice as strong as any vacuum hose iv ever come across.

N just to be sure i have clamped or zip tied every one of the bastards anyways.

aint going nowhere now....

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
