Dont do Italy! Spa isnt much better for spectating. I say do Hockenheim. I am probably doing the German GP next year...a friend suggested Abu Dhabi but not sure.

If you want to do an OS race then I strongly recommend Malaysian GP. KL is a great city to play up in with a few friends, the GP tickets are pretty cheap and you can a great view of the circuit...many, many corners. Win win...and you can do it all in a 4 day weekend

Depends what you are shopping for I guess? Pay off a local taxi driver to be your driver for the trip, throw him a retainer and he will be happy to follow you around. Considering Sat-Sun is GP, and its about an 8hr flight, you will be hard pressed to do any shopping unless you get an late Monday/overnight flight home. Then I suppose you can shop Monday.

The main thing is the big Fri/Sat night with great food and beers/laughs. Go to the right part of town and the local pubs are good fun with a good mix of people. Just have to put up with the chain smokers at the pool tables :)

But is Abu Dhabi any different to Dubai? Not sure the circuit is all that good for spectating as long straights with slow corners? The V8s being there will help, and maybe if its a couples get away but not sure its the sort of city you can have too many laughs. The quad bikes in the dunes is fun though

If you're going to see a GP in person, at the very least go to somewhere where the race is decent.

If you're watching it on TV and would prefer to be pulling your dick, chances you will probably be making your way to the portaloos circa lap 5.

dubai's a little up the road from abu dhabi, abu dhabi looks more touristy (more bars and restaurants ect).

i'm not sure about the track either but it's a part of the world i have all ways wanted to see that's why i want to go there, i think between ferrari world + racing + a day in the dunes + some time to check out dubai there won't be

any days left from a week.

if i went to the italy gp i'd stay alot longer than 7 days, you'd need to drag me away from those pizzerias kicking and screaming. :starwars:

Spa has been added to the start of my Euro Trip, working my contact for a Team pass with someone

don't think i will pull off the Italian GP as well, going to be hanging around Germany for September (Octoberfest and FIA GT at Hockenheim)

damm you, id give a liver (if a had a good one left) to go to spa.

Yeh, I am in Spa in March...dont think I will be back that late in the year so German GP or one of the Spanish races. Spain may not be the greatest race spectacles but as far as a destination and some fun imagine it will be pretty good. Would love to do Silverstone but fark going back to the UK :)

Spa has a few good spots to spectate but not much cover.:( So when (if) it rains make sure you have some wet weather kit. My pick of seats would be the downhill section after Bruxelles. A lot of the spectating points dont have stands so general admission tickets are an option...you just have to fight all the campers :) But if you have a pit pass you probably wont leave the start/finish area :)

Someone should start a thread for OS F1 races in case a number of people are going. I am getting a car inspected next Wednesday so may have already sorted a car for the next European summer :)

Thats what I'll be working towards :whistling:

Already sorted full factory team passes for Le Mans (not sure if i can make the race :( ) and the Hockenheim FIA GT round.

Unfortunately the Automotive group that contract my company aren't in F1 :(

All that means is I have 9 months to get a contact in a F1 team

    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
    • I checked spark on all cylinders and they all visually have spark with the plug pulled and grounded, but plug 1 is the only one that fouled. This was a running swap that blew up and was rebuilt by a machine shop, put a new wiring specialties harness and did all gaskets, studs, and bolts while it was out.  compression is 135-150 across all cylinders. Aside from that from my understanding with the z32 ecu and maf the car should start regardless. The wiring for TPS and the dual 02 sensor/ dual knock sensor stuff shouldn’t actually stop the car from starting or even running well, (just slightly rich)  they just give fault codes. Car supposedly is supposed to start as long as you have z32 afm and ecu with the nistune base map and that’s info coming from a well known and trusted tuner who does a lot with SR/RB (Rsenthalpy). After more trouble shooting today where I’m at right now is that the cas is sending signal to the injectors they click while spinning the rotor, Fuel pressure is now set at 43psi, all cylinders have good compression and all of the plugs looked great (just wet with fuel) except for cylinder 1 which was very black (cylinder 1 has 150psi compression). all of the coils generate spark if pulled out and grounded out on the head. On the fuel pump car just pops into the exhaust. On starting fluid car will fire off. Hard to tell if all cylinders are firing off but definitley a couple. sounds like all of them but it’s only for 3-5 seconds hard to tell.
    • Final update!!! Got the front bar fitted and sprayed and all sorted now. My cutouts worked great and the indicators aren’t just falling off. 😂
    • Is this a brand new LSD? if so, have you followed any break/bed in procedure for it? Usually involves heaps of figure 8 patterns, a fluid flush.
    • It's TWO steering wheels actually. 😛 one for each hand They are wheels, and they steer!
