The point is Vettel had all the room to his right, karthikeyan had none to his left. What's the point of only leaving the back marker the bare minimum, when you're not defending your own position. If he was, then I'd understand the NEED to run as wide as possible out of the corner.

He left the absolute minimum and he copped a puncture. Karthikeyan finishes last for his part in it, but Vettel may as well have been last for all the points he got.

the point is, Vettel left him room and Karthikeyan hit him trying to tuck into the tow. the rest is just escuses for Karthikeyan or justification for attributing blame to a driver you don't like.

Not really, I was just giving my opinion based on how I saw the video footage. Would've said the same if it was Alonso's tire that got busted, I just would've been pissed off about it..

If I was a front runner and had to pass a back marker (or Kobyashi) I'd leave MYSELF as much room as possible.

Chairman Adam Parr leaves Williams F1 team

The Williams team has announced that chairman Adam Parr will leave the outfit at the end of this week.Parr, who was seen by team founder Frank Williams as his natural successor, had joined the British outfit in 2006 as chief executive officer.

He was promoted to chairman during the 2010 season. On Monday morning, however, Williams announced that Parr will leave the team on March 30.

He will be replaced by Nick Rose, ex-CFO of Diageo and currently a Non-Executive Director of WGPH, who will act as non-executive chairman.

Frank Williams will continue to oversee the company.

"I asked Adam to join Williams at the end of 2006 to support me in the running of our team," said Frank Williams. "Over five years, Adam's achievements have surpassed my expectations and I must thank him for his service.

"Not least for the decisive role he played in the technical changes made last year which are beginning to show through in the team's improved competitiveness this season, and for leading this company to a successful IPO.

"Adam leaves us on good terms to pursue a better balance in his life for which I wish him and his family well. He has left us in good shape and I have every confidence that the Board and senior management team at Williams will

continue to drive the business forward into a promising future."

The team did not specify what Parr's next plans were.

Parr added: "I am very grateful to Frank for giving me the opportunity to work for Williams over the past five years - a period that has been both challenging and rewarding.

"Williams is a unique team with over 500 great-hearted and talented people and many superb partners in and out of Formula 1. Williams is now set up to move forward and I wish everyone at Grove well."

Kimi Raikkonen showed that beneath that icy facade is a sense of humour to rival most as he gifted the media ice-creams at Sepang.

The late time he raced at the Sepang circuit, Raikkonen was slated by many while earning a chuckle from others as, with the race suspended due to the heavy downpour, he headed into his Ferrari garage for a Coke and a chocolate ice-cream.

That proved to be the Finn's final season with Ferrari as his commitment to the team and the sport was called into question.

Three years later - and back in F1 - there were again ice-creams to be had in Malaysia although this time they were for the press.

With more rain and another suspended race on the horizon, the Lotus team handed out ice-creams to the media on behalf of their Finnish driver ahead of Sunday's grand prix.

The treat came with a note saying "please enjoy this ice-cream" and was insurmountable proof that Raikkonen does have a sense of humour.

Ha ha ha :D

I thinking about it more, wonder if this mixed up top 10 will continue as bigger budget teams excel on those without it as the season progresses. Especially with motor/parts reliability over the longer season.

Thoughts?

I think we can all agree that Karthikeyan is not Formula 1 standard.

    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
