arsnic_apple
Just wanted to know what peoples opinions are on aftermarket manifolds that are floating around for the rb26. Something like This claims to increase power by 15% on a standard engine which i find hard to believe. Do these actually make any difference or are they just a waste of money? arsnic_apple
Not just targeting ebay items, greddy or which ever are they worth the money or are they just overkill unless your really trying to make big power. Moodles2
The Nismo manifold only goes as far as saying something like a 1.8% power increase (although balancing all 6 cylinders instead of the stock one which puts too much air into cyl #6). If it's not designed by a reputable aftermarket company (greddy, nismo, hypertune etc) then in all likelyhood they may be worse off than the stock manifold in my opinion Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/386012-aftermarket-manifolds/#findComment-6156767 Share on other sites
paulr33
i think youd be hard done by to max the std front facing plenum on the rb26 i mean, sure if you are making 400rwkw then you might be close to peaking its efficiency, but i dont reckon you would gain anywhere near 15%, like moodles said, nismo quote 1.8% hardly cost effective if its a dedicated track car and you have every other nismo part, go for it, but most cant justify the cost to gain zero most if they are picky enough tune and trim cylinders 1 and 6 to compensate for the airflow balance across the plenum Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/386012-aftermarket-manifolds/#findComment-6156803 Share on other sites
paulr33
and i wouldnt trust any of the non-genuine intake plenums on a $5k/$6k engine greddy geniune, nismo genuine or nothing, stay well away from the ebay copies, the std one is probably better Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/386012-aftermarket-manifolds/#findComment-6156804 Share on other sites
