yeah thats where im thinking..... i have a plazmaman plenum so its going to be a little tight there..... im thinking of doing some changes to where the air filter goes and the piping there so i can fit it over on the left hand side of the car...

as tempted as I am to make this difficult Jeremy......just drop it at Brad's with an order for a 3l catch can, and then pick it up 2 days later with a 3l custom catch can at an excellent price.

Your car can sleep next to my race car while there if it will make it feel less lonely.

c'mon Mark....share your oil experiences and get Jeremy to just kill himself in despair.

Did you make any progress after last weekend? Or did your car co-incidentally catch fire on sunday morning?

Your car has a GTiR next to it still.

I was considering moving your car to upstairs (floor is now rated to 5tonne)

lol...it will leave one day....just need to finish the damn house first! If you are going to get rid of anything, get rid of that shitbox pulsar.

Jeremy...why the need for CAMS compliance? Are you thinking about getting a logbook? If so, a cage will be the big change. If a logbook is not important I can't see why a 3l catch can would be any more appropriate than a 2l one. If your breathing is under control 2l vs 3l is no big deal.

Duncan, cams schedule b clearly outlines the need for a 3l catch tank for any engine over 2000cc.

I was given lots of grief about it at eastern creek yesterday.

I also have to seal off the boot from the cabin now 100% due to my surge tank.

well....I don't know who's event it was at EC yesterday....but that is why most clubs don't run under CAMS rules, they can be a PITA.

In any case, Brad can help you out with the catch can and all other schedule A and B requirements. Unless you are racing a cage is not required by CAMS but some clubs might require them when you are on slicks. I'd never want to discourage a motorsport competitor, but there are plenty of events where a cage is not required - a cage is that key decision where your car is no longer a reasonable daily optio, and if you are going to go that way there are lots of other options worth considering.

Jeremy,,,who was running the day,,,I would have come if I knew and quite frankly I like it done that way so you know whats what. It's all safety stuff in the end. Don't seal the boot area off,,,just re-locate the fuel surge tank under the car.

Go with Brads idea of putting it on the drivers front,,,that way you have no oil or hoses anywhere near your turbo or manifold. If room is tight and you still have your windscreen bottle in the corner,,,think about moving it into the boot area.

Cheers

Neil.

Hi Niel, it was a driving sports day. full on drift day. lots of fun.

they had a cams licensee or official down there doing the scruiteneerig and while he was tough i thought it was fine. the rulse are the rules, so you must comply.

i'll take the tips on the location of the oil can, but the washe bottle is already gone and well its going to have to be 3liters......hope these is enogh room...

who is and where is brad and his workshop?

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
