Will be late Jan or very early Feb, I'm back down to tas on the 5th of Feb and the stagea is now up for sale

Probably will be in the next 2 weeks so watch this space for datails!

somewhere between using bad fuel once and my turbo failied andinstalling a hypergear/walbro/450cc injectors, nistune and taking too long to get booked in at a tuner, them delaying it an extra week because they couldnt get my front shaft out (they charged me an hours labour to not get it out)(took me 10 mins and i dont even have a jack), it was tuned st 306hp, 20 psi at 4000rpm dropping to 14psi at 7000rpm. on the way home from the tune i had a strange noise (i now think it was audible knock) and repeated check engine lights so pulled over about 10 mins after picking it, (pulled over as soon as the light came on) rang the tuner and he never returned my call. it never ran properly after that, did a compression test after trying all sorts of tests and came back at 96 167 167 167 167 167, tipped in some oil and came up to 130, i found 4 big problems once i had it apart, broken engine mount, cracked piston, valve about to drop, headgasket borderline blown, so yeah been a few months driving my mums camry.

Ok, got my car back (albeit with my optima battery completely f$%#@*d, and damn battery world not honoring the warranty.... So, should get a new batt today... I am still tentatively in, but my car will be going into the panel shop very soon to (finally after 3 years) get the roof rail replacement kit fitted!

I'll keep an eye on the dates, and try to make sure I have the Stag on the road for this meet... :)

Someone will have to take over this one for me, I'm heading to the uk tmrw for a funeral

Then I'm off to tassie 5 days after I return

Hopefully someone can take over and finish this so you guys get a meet out of it

Cheers, tom

Sorry to hear the bad news Tom.

I'll run a few ideas up the flagpole & see who salutes.

So everyone, either the weekend of 21/22 or 28/29. Can a few people vote for a day?

I would prefer a Saturday, but traditionally these things are held on a Sunday due to work/sport comittments etc, so maybe the first few in agreement can set the date & the rest of us will have go with it. In any case there's no way everyone will be able to make it no matter what date is set.

I've got a few ideas for the route but would appreciate someone reminding me of the usual GC meet point/s.

Cheers, Leon.

What's a guy got to do to generate some interest? Free drinks at lunch?

OK, Sunday 22nd of January, yes, just over a week away (unless a significant number of people actually speak up for a different date).

Route TBC.

sounds pretty good to me. Usual meet spot I we use is Coomera BP, but depends on where you want to go.... Mudgeeraba Shell is another good spot (and it's only 2 min from my place!!)

The route for Sunday is the reverse of a cruise from 2009. I'll post a route map in the next day or so, but essentially it is this:

South down Pacific Motorway with pickups along the way, Locations & times to be confirmed.

Exit around Elanora & head up Tomewin Mountain Rd

Over the top of the mountain & down into Murwillumbah.

Out thru Crystal Creek & up past Natural bridge & Numinbah Valley.

Back onto the motorway again at Nerang & head for home (or lunch?).

We'll have some stops along the way, so if you have any suggestions/locations for lunch please let us know.

Thanks to Micah for his input & especially for confirming the roads are OK to drive on as of a few weeks ago.

Looks like the usual apologies are coming in thick & fast, lol. Happens every cruise.

Hey Josh, I hope you can make it as I don't want to be the only M35 there.

For everyone else, it doesn't matter if your Stag is clean or dirty, modified or standard, straight or dinged - I'd like to encourage everyone to take a few hours to meet up & have a drive.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
