changed to the united oil united 1 5w50 from ash(kingscorp) It's fully synth and so far it has been great I now have good oil pressure on cold starts (70psi approx) and on idle it now is about 40psi instead of 25. So far I highly rate this oil and for half the price of royal purple etc I don't think I'll ever look back. If ash is still doing a bulk deal I will buying in bulk in the very near future.

Benchmark for oil pressure is ~10psi per 1000rpm, a little higher at idle. 25psi is a much more sensible idle pressure than 40, and shows that the 5W-50 is too thick. What viscosity was giving you 25psi? I like 0W-40 for the rb26dett and vq25det.

I get a bit concerned once oil pressure drops below 2bar lol

Should drop a bit at idle once the oil heats up, will always have more oil pressure when cold. I don't think having 40 psi at idle is a problem any way, certainly want cause any issues. Our V8 Race car has 45 psi at cranking (on the starter motor)
