Hey guys,

So I think a thread with things to do and go see in the ACT would be a worth while thing.

This will help new members or even people looking for things to do and are browsing the internet.

Lots of the things listed all over the place is parliament house and other attractions but maybe a few members have some secret places or activities they like doing.

I will start with one that I was told about and will get a layout happening that you can follow if you like.

Name: Island Getaway

Location: Off the edge of the Museum

Activity: There is an island that is situated just off the Museum which you are able to get to by boat.

My friends used a blow up boat purchased for $20 and rowed over there.

On this Island there is nice green grass a few trees and a BBQ! yep a bloody BBQ!

Take a boat full of snags etc and make a day of it with a few mates or a partner.

Could be romantic if you spent a little more then $20 on the boat haha.

Remember to take a BBQ scraper!

Items needed: BBQ things , blow up boat or other type of inflatable material,

Extras: *Warning* If your as daring as my friends they decided to keep floating down the river and ended up at the governor generals house and decided to go for a walk haha got chased by police as well.

Hope everyone gets in on this so I can find a few more things to do.

Also I am sure a few of you are stuck in a routine that you wouldn't mind getting out of.

It's called Springbank Island, Kasko!

Ok this is not very exciting, but if you love your doggy it's a nice spot. We had an SAU Xmas BBQ down here one time.

Name: Lazeh River Day :D

Location: Uriarra East Reserve, drive down the Cotter Road, turn at Uriarra Road, keep driving until you get to it

Activity: Only about 20mins from Weston. Laze around in the river in the sun, free from the dog nazis :P Lots of other friendly people who love their pupsters too. There's a "beach" and plenty of separate little spots if you want to get away from everyone else. Enormous grassy area to have a picnic or BBQ.

Items needed: Swimmers, sunscreen, beers, stubby holders, food (optional :D ) and dog!

Extras: Check if there's a fire ban before planning a BBQ as they are wood. On that note you may need to bring some firewood too.

Gordon adventure playground for the WIN!

Aside from having BBQ facilities, it offers a few very fun ways to break a limb, which is more than i can say for the rest of Canberra.

Just get some unsuspecting friend of loved one to cross the rope bridge thingy and start taking pot shots at them with a football.....

However this place is most suitable for either big kids or young families

Name: Gordon Adventure playground (not a very secret place)

Location: Uh, Gordon.....

Activity: BBQ's, General Shennanigans, Ball games, etc.

Items needed: Friends, Family, BBQ supplies, Food, Beers, Football.

You're right Kasko, there ain't much to do around here it would seem. lol.

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
