hey mate, i have an r33 coupe and ended up getting a r33 4 door rear garnish as they have the silver 'skyline' letters on them whereas the coupe garnish is colour coded. I'm pretty sure this applies to the r34's as well. all i did was pop off the letters and stick them directly over the top of the letters as I prefer the look of the chrome letters. I just had a quick look on ebay and looks as though you would need to purchase the entire bootlid to get the letters which could be a bit costly so maybe you could try spraying or sticking chrome overlay on the letters. just an idea

Thanks Mate, here's what I'm after (see attached image)

I've been searching eBay, Alibaba, Amazon and hells knows what without any luck. Appreciate your help.

Hi Guys,

Let me know if any of you can help me. I'm after the whole chrome SKYLINE letters on R34 rear boot lid.I've been searching through wreckers and online without much luck.

Cheers

have you tried NISSAN spare parts?

They are on the rear bumper for an R34.

If you put a post up in the WTB section, maybe someone on the forums can help you out. Or try a few more local wreckers. Where are you located, I know of a few spare parts places in Sydney that may be able to help you.

As Steven said above, if worst comes to worst, you should be able to order them new from Nissan. (But as with anything direct, get ready to bend over when you see the price)

I actually have the S and Y and the E kicking around somewhere, but they wouldnt be much use to you as they obviously arent the full set. I found them in the boot of one of my GTT's while cleaning - the previous owner had removed them for the 'clean' look.

Also important to note that the series 1 and series 2 R34 chrome letters are different.

Series 2 letters are smaller and closer together, so bare this in mind while searching.

Hope this helps, good luck with the search.

Thanks guys this helps, I am in Sydney and have been searching through some wreckers but so far without luck, let me know know if you have some shops in mind specifically. Some weeks back some one also told me to check with Nissan but told me that it may cost a fortune so I haven't checked with Nissan yet.

Cheers

Thanks Mate, Just bought the whole SKYLINE from this guy for $20 bucks!

Now off to get some badge adhesive.

Cheers

Try this guy - 0410 069 096.

I've bought a few things from him previously.

He is at Wetherill Park, can be good for some stuff.

    • Yeah, it's getting like that, my daughter is coming over on Thursday to help me remove the bonnet so I can install the Carbuilders underbonnet stuff,  I might get her to give me a hand and remove the hardtop, maybe, because on really hot days the detachable hardtop helps the aircon keep the interior cool, the heat just punches straight through to rag top I also don't have enough hair for the "wind in the hair" experience, so there is that....LOL
    • Could be falling edge/rising edge is set wrong. Are you getting sync errors?
    • On BMWs what I do because I'm more confident that I can't instantly crush the pinch welds and do thousands of USD in chassis damage is use a set of rubber jacking pads designed to protect the chassis/plastic adapter and raise a corner of the car, place the aforementioned 2x12 inch wooden planks under a tire, drop the car, then this normally gives me enough clearance to get to the front central jack point. If you don't need it to be a ramp it only needs to be 1-1.5 feet long. On my R33 I do not trust the pinch welds to tolerate any of this so I drive up on the ramps. Before then when I had to get a new floor jack that no longer cleared the front lip I removed it to get enough clearance to put the jack under it. Once you're on the ramps once you simply never let the car down to the ground. It lives on the ramps or on jack stands.
    • Nah. You need 2x taps for anything that you cannot pass the tap all the way through. And even then, there's a point in response to the above which I will come back to. The 2x taps are 1x tapered for starting, and 1x plug tap for working to the bottom of blind holes. That block's port is effectively a blind hole from the perspective of the tap. The tapered tap/tapered thread response. You don't ever leave a female hole tapered. They are supposed to be parallel, hence the wide section of a tapered tap being parallel, the existince of plug taps, etc. The male is tapered so that it will eventually get too fat for the female thread, and yes, there is some risk if the tapped length of the female hole doesn't offer enough threads, that it will not lock up very nicely. But you can always buzz off the extra length on the male thread, and the tape is very good at adding bulk to the joint.
    • Nice....looking forward to that update
