Just really after opinions,

I have a 34 GTR, looking at getting the side skirts and rear pods. Just wondering peoples throughts on getting the Z tune from bar, I wont be doing to the guards and most likely keeping the Stock bonnet.

Z tune kit is around 800-900 off ebay

Side skirt and pods are 400....

I wouldnt mind getting my front bar resprayed, but it isnt a necessity lol.

Either build it right or don't do it at all as a stock R34 Zilla looks tough as is...if you Z it, please do mankind some justice and go all the way - and I mean, all the way to the LMGT4s anything less is a crime!! :domokun:

Agreed ^^^

Yes Dan, I share your interest in the Z-Tune front bar - without any interest whatsoever in the equivalent guards or bonnet.

It's a bit more edgy as well as aggressive in certain spots.

Hi guys,

Sorry but I disagree, if you Z-Tune replica it, do it right and do it complete. The Z-Tune front bar is nice, but without matching sideskirts, rear bar and vented bonnet, it's half done.

Cheers

EDIT: If you are ONLY planing to get the front bar - then you cannot say it is a Z-TUNE REPLICA R34 GTR, instead, you are simply putting a Nismo Front Bar on a stock R34 GTR. So to answer your question, if you Z-TUNE it, then do it right or don't at all!!

You still could not say it was a Z-tune replica as there are a lot of other engine and interior goodies that make it up, besides, why would you want to run around telling people you have a "Z-tune replica".....

The only thing that is a Z-tune item, as stated, is the front bar, bonnet and guards, the skirts and pods are nismo items.

At the end of the day, it's just another front bar.

I don't think it looks bad just having the front bar, that said, i am partial to the whole kit, but if using just the front bar is the what you like, go for it, it's still a sexy front bar at that.

all this coming from the guy that was asking where to get "racing tyres" so he could have white paint on them.... do it right and make your car a propper JGTC replica or don't do it at all kev ;)

I was unsure on what that means also, but i assume he's referring to the overfender/flare thingys over the rear guards.

Not sure who makes those though... Nismo?

Haha!

Ah yeah, the rear quarter guard flares are a Nismo item.

They call it a "Rear Fender Cover".

A bolt on item to allow you to run wider tires and retain the flush look.

Otherwise the rear wheel fitment will be poke.

I may not know much about tyre types, but bodykits I have done a few and have seen people that have done it right and not so right. Yeah agreed on the JGTC GTR thing. lol.

thing is, im not trying to have the full Ztune copy, just looking at what terry has done really

Then go for it mate. The Nismo front bar looks great and just keep it stock looking otherwise nothing wrong with that at all but it won't complete the "Z-Tune" look which is totally up to you.

    • Wrong question. There's no point in spending the rather large sum of cash and effort to add turbo, without taking it to the "sensible" limit of the motor itself. If you have to upgrade injectors, etc, then so be it. That is a tiny fraction of what it will cost you to turbo it.
    • Measure voltage at the starter solenoid terminal when the key is at start and it has clicked. If it is really low, then the suspicion falls on the ignition switch (contacts or wiring thereof) as causing a voltage drop instead of sending enough volts to throw the solenoid all the way to engage the starter itself. If it is a decent voltage, then the suspicion is on the solenoid. Might have s horted coil, or might hva dirty contacts. Rip the starter off, dismantle, clean up contacts and inspect winding. It might not be possible to see if there is a short in the winding though. I have a spare starter here that I could measure the resistance of the coil, as a guide to about what it should be, if you need a comparison. <parts hoarder>No you cannot have it.</parts hoarder>
    • lights are on just the one click.
    • Absolutely matters because, while a temperature change will eventually reach a sensor at the end of a static line, the response time is far far far too slow to be useful. Might as well not have a temp gauge at all.
    • When I was eyeing off the 370GT (after deciding I didn't want to spend 30-40k+ to relive my early 20s in an R33) I thought it'd be a good project to add a turbo to it. Now that I have a 370GT, and I've had a couple of chances to open it up, I'm pretty stunned by how much power it makes 🫠 Honestly, the way the VVEL opens it up, it almost feels like there's a little turbo tucked away in there somewhere. It's like Nissan looked at VTEC and said "hold my beer" 😁 Has anyone thrown a turbo into their 370Z or 370GT? Is there a conservative boost level you can run without having to upgrade the fuel system, or are bigger injectors and a bigger pump a given?
