Ok so I'd say I've been noticing this for a few years but lately it is happening every time I'm on the road to some extent..

Ok so I drive a R32 and have just under 300kw but why I write this post is because I have just driven a 1 hour drive from my fiancées house to my place s.o.r and I have a had a final count of 9 v8s that have go-ed me trying to get me to drag or "boot it" or have tailgated me to the point it has annoyed me enuf to write this post.... I am 30 years old ,I don't hoon,I don't drag or Try go every car around me because I have the power and could "chop" alot of cars out there today but whenever I am on the road and especially today have noticed that there is alot of dickheads in v8s being absolute fu@&heads ,hoons, tailgaters and general idiots but they are rarely stopped but bang I go through a set of lights doing 50 in low 3rd gear and a cop just fkn appears out of no where and well let's just say I now have a nice yellow sticker on my car even though there is absolutely nothing wrong with it or illegally modified on it.. I can sit and bag other drivers out there today and point out all the other bad drivers but I'm sure you have heard it all before.this is my 6th yellow sticker in 2 years and the last 3 have been over nothing at all except stupid fkn shit like my front bar needs mesh across it as I have a FMIC even tho the car never came with one in 1990..Has anyone else put up with this shit or have they noticed the amount of dickheads in v8s out there.....

Yeah its a v8 thing all of my mates are V8 bogans lol and have all wanted to flog my little 2.5L rice burner, jap crap etc etc but what i do is get them to take me for a run in their car then say wow this goes alright now come for a run in my car and like your car i have over 300kw on the tar and when i plant it in 2nd gear and give it a quick stab in 3rd the looks on their faces and the comments that come outta their mouths is priceless! Then of course i ask them if they still wanna drag lol to which the answer always is faaark this thing would flog my car! Its funny though because its a not a holden or ford V8 its a piece of jap crap yet they will jump on a Honda CRF450 and think its the greatest thing ever or have ridden R1's and the likes and know that jap dirt bikes and road bikes are amongst the fastest and most reliable bikes on the road and track but for some reason jap performance cars are gutless and unreliable?????? until their narrow minds actually get in 1 and drive 1 and realize that jap cars go like the showers of shit cost swet F A to get astonishing performance in all aspects from cornering to outright acceleration and that they cant actually compare their cars as their car is more of a taxi with heaps of grunt as apposed to being a genuine sports car. My 2c worth im not biased towards any brand or engine configuration and can appreciate their cars for what they are but why cant they carry the respect for jap cars being the great performance bargains that they are!

Try drive a gtr. I had one idiot pull up next to me at a set of lights with twenty cars around, ask me for a drag from the passengers seat with his missus driving. And had my indicator on to turn.

i 2nd eric's respons i have the option of either an 89 32 gtr or a 91 32 gtr and there are drivers behind the wheel of V8's that do the same thing to me all the time but the big red R under the GT does not make matters any better so they think GTR driver's must be full blown racers

Guy's just ignore the idiots , i also get heaps of people in their v8's try to drag me , if you have 300Kw or above you know u gonna win so what's the point . "Power-to-weight ratio "

i was a idiot last week and i have learned the hard way "Never again" .

this guy in his VE malo was tailgating me , reving the engine ect ect , he was driving me nuts ,

so i took a risk and said f**k it , i did second gear pull to third , left him like he was standing still ,anyway

he was so imbaresed and couldent even look at me poor flamin mongrel , " the VE guy : ah you have turbo u car only worth 10grand i was like WTF are u smooking mate now go home and cry to you mama u top bloke "

then couple of streets away cops were on the trafic lights and they seen us speading , they were smart didnt put the sirens & lights on but instead they have folowed me all the way to destination.

i was like f**k man "say good bye to the car and licence" .

almost got my car impounded cops didnt have any reading on me ,

cop: did you enjoy that ? was it worth betting that guy ?

me: nah not really , my mistake i was so stupid to do that on public raod , won't happen again I promise .

cop: you now i can impound you car for 28 day and take your license away.

... me: yes I'm aware of that ( me shiting bricks lol).

cop: give me a reason why i should impound ur car.

me: I don't have one..... I was just being stupid and I should've controlled my thoughs and right foot bit better as i said it won't happen again.

cop: license please (went to check details) came back this will be your warning , enjoy the rest of your day

me: Thank you

my mate passinger : man your the luckiest guy ever if that was me i would definitely get busted.

so i have learned my leasson and said to my self , i could of lost my job ,my licence and my car for what ?

For your sake and evryone elese

Please dont race on public road's pay to go to drags and have fun .

Peace out :)

I think the focus also needs to be drawn to ridiculously loud Harleys that you can hear 5km up the road or any road bike for that matter, 4WD's that look like they are about to roll over when they go around a corner because they are so highly modified to be offroad that they shouldn't be on the road and i dont know if u guys on the westside get the tools who have utes with 5 post truck bullbars and 50 6m long aerials hanging off them the bars are so heavy that it makes the car handle like a dog and assures that even the lowest speed accident with pedestrians will see them in a body bag.

Guy's just ignore the idiots , i also get heaps of people in their v8's try to drag me , if you have 300Kw or above you know u gonna win so what's the point

I've got 302rwkw and to be honest, I rarely even use that power. The amount of d*ckheads that try to race is unbelievable.

Latest one was when some tosser in a VN commo was sitting next to me through a construction zone (which is 60km/h) revving it.. What, first one to knock a worker over wins? What a d*ck.

I also don't get most of the driving public either. I'm the most timid driver (car will see boost 3 times a week if lucky) and everytime there is always someone tailgating me.

They get pissed off when we fang our cars BUT they get pissed off when we drive around normally too. WTF?!

one of several reasons (both the v8 hoons and cops) to which i changed to a euro car.

Normal and to me will only get worse.

This thread made me feel better about my slow POS- The reason why i bought it over a GTR is clearly outlined in this thread!

Why bother creating another thread about this shit?

We all know it happens. Just be mature enough to put up with it and if you really want put a complaint into your local police.

We've all heard about this shit before with dickheads driving any cars, yes Skylines included, like a bunch of morons. But creating another thread about it isn't telling us something we don't already know.

Yawn. Agreed x a billion.

All I heard was blah blah blah I have an r32 with under 300kw can I get a hug please?

I respect and can get what your saying char and I get what costanza is saying and it pisses me off big time I put up with this shit daily on the roads toooo but I think he was just ranting an venting and allowed to have his say just as we all are and the only thing i think is that he is guilty of is not knowing how to use the search function.....plus I also do own a 300+kw 32gtst (no love needed) and up till last week a 400kw evo 6 and I have a Million stories of stupid dumb fcukn v8 drivers and the shit they do but it will never change until it is brought into the publics and medias eyes..

every child with their v8 has something to prove! i use to work in welshpool! one day got ridiculous actually had the same car follow me to 3 sets of lights revving his car the whole way down!!

    • I had 3 counts over the last couple of weeks once where i got stranded at a jdm paint yard booking in some work. 2nd time was moving the car into the drive way for the inspection and the 3rd was during the inspection for the co2 leak test. Fix: 1st, car off for a hour and half disconnected battery 10mins 4th try car started 2nd, 5th try started 3rd, countless time starting disconnected battery dude was under the hood listening to the starting sequence fuel pump ect.
    • This. As for your options - I suggest remote mounting the Nissan sensor further away on a length of steel tube. That tube to have a loop in it to handle vibration, etc etc. You will need to either put a tee and a bleed fitting near the sensor, or crack the fitting at the sensor to bleed it full of oil when you first set it up, otherwise you won't get the line filled. But this is a small problem. Just needs enough access to get it done.
    • The time is always correct. Only the date is wrong. It currently thinks it is January 19. Tomorrow it will say it is January 20. The date and time are ( should be ! ) retrieved from the GPS navigation system.
    • Buy yourself a set of easy outs. See if they will get a good bite in and unthread it.   Very very lucky the whole sender didn't let go while on the track and cost you a motor!
    • Well GTSBoy, prepare yourself further. I did a track day with 1/2 a day prep on Friday, inpromptu. The good news is that I got home, and didn't drive the car into a wall. Everything seemed mostly okay. The car was even a little faster than it was last time. I also got to get some good datalog data too. I also noticed a tiny bit of knock which was (luckily?) recorded. All I know is the knock sensors got recalibrated.... and are notorious for false knock. So I don't know if they are too sensitive, not sensitive enough... or some other third option. But I reduced timing anyway. It wasn't every pull through the session either. Think along the lines of -1 degree of timing for say, three instances while at the top of 4th in a 20 minute all-hot-lap session. Unfortunately at the end of session 2... I noticed a little oil. I borrowed some jack stands and a jack and took a look under there, but as is often the case, messing around with it kinda half cleaned it up, it was not conclusive where it was coming from. I decided to give it another go and see how it was. The amount of oil was maybe one/two small drops. I did another 20 minute session and car went well, and I was just starting to get into it and not be terrified of driving on track. I pulled over and checked in the pits and saw this: This is where I called it, packed up and went home as I live ~20 min from the track with a VERY VERY CLOSE EYE on Oil Pressure on the way home. The volume wasn't much but you never know. I checked it today when I had my own space/tools/time to find out what was going on, wanted to clean it up, run the car and see if any of the fittings from around the oil filter were causing it. I have like.. 5 fittings there, so I suspected one was (hopefully?) the culprit. It became immediately apparent as soon as I looked around more closely. 795d266d-a034-4b8c-89c9-d83860f5d00a.mp4       This is the R34 GTT oil sender connected via an adapter to an oil cooler block I have installed which runs AN lines to my cooler (and back). There's also an oil temp sensor on top.  Just after that video, I attempted to unthread the sensor to see if it's loose/worn and it disintegrated in my hand. So yes. I am glad I noticed that oil because it would appear that complete and utter catastrophic engine failure was about 1 second of engine runtime away. I did try to drill the fitting out, and only succeeded in drilling the middle hole much larger and now there's a... smooth hole in there with what looks like a damn sleeve still incredibly tight in there. Not really sure how to proceed from here. My options: 1) Find someone who can remove the stuck fitting, and use a steel adapter so it won't fatigue? (Female BSPT for the R34 sender to 1/8NPT male - HARD to find). IF it isn't possible to remove - Buy a new block ($320) and have someone tap a new 1/8NPT in the top of it ($????) and hope the steel adapter works better. 2) Buy a new block and give up on the OEM pressure sender for the dash entirely, and use the supplied 1/8 NPT for the oil temp sender. Having the oil pressure read 0 in the dash with the warning lamp will give me a lot of anxiety driving around. I do have the actual GM sensor/sender working, but it needs OBD2 as a gauge. If I'm datalogging I don't actually have a readout of what the gauge is currently displaying. 3) Other? Find a new location for the OEM sender? Though I don't know of anywhere that will work. I also don't know if a steel adapter is actually functionally smart here. It's clearly leveraged itself through vibration of the motor and snapped in half. This doesn't seem like a setup a smart person would replicate given the weight of the OEM sender. Still pretty happy being lucky for once and seeing this at the absolute last moment before bye bye motor in a big way, even if an adapter is apparently 6 weeks+ delivery and I have no way to free the current stuck/potentially destroyed threads in the current oil block.
