Tuned By IS Motor Racing

Made 216 awkw @ 1.0bar (14.5psi)

Should i be getting more power out of what i have????

Cheers.

they are 7's, i haven't spoken to the tuner but I'm sure what you said about "lets see how it goes for now" tune sums it up pretty well. :)

Cheers

It's the ecu.

I get 250 on standard everything and 12 psi. My question, how can you say it was tuned? You can't tune a mines ecu.

Mine's ECU's are great for paperweights as Paul said, they also do well as frisbee's or a donor empty case for a better choice like any Autronic or Link. Im sure in Japan they're worthwhile, sadly they're not worthwhile here.

You're sitting on a few good parts in that list, a good ECU will allow the tuner to extract the best from those parts. A PFC (very popular option) will be a leap forward and they're so cheap these days!

Man things have changed in 3 years lol.

I still have the car but it has had a full engine build, your gonna think I'm crazy but i still have the mines ECU in it haha I have had a Power FC at home for 6 months now but have never had the time to get it in and tuned. The mines runs sweet. Well I don't have anything to compare it to lol I'm sure when I get the PFC in ill be kicking myself I didn't do it sooner :)

Got bigger injectors and fuel pump and cam gears to go in as well as the PFC so looking around the 300kw mark.

Weirdest thing with the old motor, I was driving and it started to lose oil pressure, to the point where the oil light was on and you could hear all the lifters ticking in the head.

Found out once pulled down the Crank thrust bearing was so warn it had 10mm of end float. Apparently the oil pump was slipping on the crank.. dont know how though lol anyways all good now fully rebuilt with 40,000km on it :)

Just a friendly Update...

Ended up getting the power fc in there and tuned by DVS, the mines in the end was running aggressive timing (28 degrees of timing) lol

all good now with 255rwkw on 17.5 psi and 560nm at 4500rpm.

Very happy with the tune :)

    • I thought Australia got rid of the "drag dodgy fuel up to 91 RON with ethanol", which is why all E10 advertise as "up to 94 RON" ? Anyway I put E10/91 in the missus' Mazda because she empties the tank weekly, when all my cars get 98RON. tl;dr - turbo - 98 RON, if you can't afford that, sell it and get a commuter car (or tune your car for 91, which no one does).
    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
