Since this forum has been around for about 8 years, a reply like this is not really funny coming from someone like yourself.

The poor dude needs some direction....

Enough of the bullshit...

Mate try and keep these turbos for another project and look into something more appropriate for your setup.... (or sell them)

The RB25 engine has been known to handle 300rwkw but its all in the tune and the parts being used.... Some people claim 450+ kw from a stock RB25.... somtimes i think about getting one and seeing just how far it can go just for kicks and giggles but been too busy these days...

Build it right and it should live at 280kw at wheels for a very long time....

BTW the mafia's comment made me LOL hard :) (but i am sure he meant duct tape)

good luck, shoot me a pm when you get sick of bein flamed for bein a newby...... even I was one of those here once apon a time....

Think your getting ahead of your self mate only the other day you where asking how to clean a afm. To op just read the rb25 dyno results

thanks for being supportive guys, i wont lie ive come from a holden background so i know nothing about jap imports whatsoever.....to be honest these t28s i just bought are for the holden, and the ones i have here i was going to put on i am now using 1 and putting it on the rb25....ill try and search for what i want from now on sargeRX8, bit i couldnt exactly find what i was looking for in plain wording so thats why i posted here.

basically im just wanting to replace the standard r33 one in there now, wind the boost up a little and ill be happy if i got 200rwkw. ive dot 3-4 supporting mods aswell so at the end of the day i want to get it tuned with all this stuff so im utilizing it correctly

It was in one thread about another problem, neat and tidy. I wasn't actually having a go at the guy, it just seemed the attitude he got from others wasn't helping. I don't know the answer to his second question and his first question isn't going to take a short response. It also isn't worded right, boost is not equal to power.

Had I not said he was being trolled, or you guys didn't jump in on this, he probably would have believed his turbos are capable of safely pushing 45psi.

Matter of the fact is, he was being trolled by other members, I merely warned him of it and why it was happening.

To attempt to answer his questions;

It all depends on what turbo you are running on your car. An example is if you were to run a GT3582r on your car and push 25psi. It may very well run nice and safe for a while and make some healthy power. If you got a bigger turbo, say a GT40, and ran 25psi off that turbo, chances are you will pop your engine. There is no direct figure. People often say don't set your self a PSI level, or a rwkw figure but I think setting a target rwkw figure can help you when searching for parts. If you want about 220 - 250rwkw with close to stock response you can get a highflow, injectors, ECU, exhaust, intercooler and AFM. Run about 14psi and she will be happy. My old highflow made 225rwkw on 13psi on a very conservative tune. With my setup, I should be pushing >300rwkw but the dyno shows otherwise. Its not all about boost, or one part in particular. Its all clock work. Every gear, every part, every component from the filter you run to the tip if your exhaust will affect the power you make.

See when I'm not on my phone I can give a better response.

As for your second question, those turbos will not handle 40psi safely. Free boost them, sure you might hit 40psi but....

As said. All about the tune :)

Lithiums RB25 had 300kw with 17/18psi for over 100,000km. Longer than the car had standard power. So its definitely doable.

They are pretty tough motors. Just be nice(ish) to them and have a safe tune.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
