I have an ARX and I would like to install a Thule or other brand of roof racks - I also have 2 sunroof

I also want to install dog screen at the back-

Raf, have you tried going to any roof rack shops?

A quick Google search revealed in your area:

  • Roof Rack City Minto, Macarthur 4wd Accessories - Unit 10, 5 Merryvale Road Minto NSW 2566 Phone: (02) 9820 6493 Fax: (02) 9820 6393
  • Bicycles Plus - Shop 2, 17 Blaxland Road, Campbelltown, NSW 2560 Phone: 02 4628 3155 Fax: 02 4628 3177
  • PROEX, 25 Liverpool St, INGLEBURN NSW 2565

I'm pretty sure that the C34 guys just bought cross bars that fit onto the factory roof rails (I think the ones that suited were off a Toyota Rav4), so it might be an idea to measure the distance between the rails and see what's available that will work. Also, the ones I've seen on some cars look like they're lockable at different points so you can adjust how far apart they are (and so they don't block your sunroof).

For the dog screen, try the same thing - see if there's something off the shelf (or easily modified) that would suit a Falcon or Commodore wagon, and measure it up. Ask at a pet shop or vet's, maybe?

Couldn't you use a cargo net for the dog screen? From memory it fits between the front lower mount and the front upper mount..

sure can, thats all i've done can take a pic with the great dane in the back if you wanna see it work...!:nyaanyaa:

I have Prorack Whispbars on my PM35. They're a NZ company. I got mine through Roof Rack City in Fyshwick, ACT. Here's a link to Prorack's website.

http://www.whispbar.com.au/findmycar Just select Nissan, Stagea and your year model, although they're all the same.

Mine are Through bars for more practicalness but the flush bars probably look better. I only have one sunroof but the rack doesn't interfere with its operation - they sit fairly high. The mounts on the M35 are fixed so you can't move them to any other position. I think it's good being able to keep an eye on your load while you're driving, especially if the load is expensive bicycles.web.jpg?ver=13313323990001

Whispbars looked nice but being a tightarse I got the slightly cheaper P bars also from ProRack. Can confirm they're excellent, mount well and are of very sturdy construction.

Only four bolts to mount/dismount so you don't have to drive around like a tool in an SUV with his roofracks on all the time.

Also if you're interested in a cargo net....send me a PM, if you want something in particular I can probably customise the design too.

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
